Good afternoon everyone! What a nice change in weather we’ve had today!
This morning on the front table, a few of our Buds friends wrapped up their ghosts and caught up on finishing their Tsukimi crafts! S had fun feeling the sticky paste and applying his shapes to complete his Tsukimi banner. K and E were also excited to complete their Tsukimi sculpture! Their favorite part was crumpling the tissue paper mochi!
On the back table, the play doh was back by popular demand and H watched E roll out some pretend mochi! This inspired H to practice rolling out some clay and using the cutter to make some lines! Pretty soon, T and S came by to squish and squeeze their way into the Buds bakery class! T stamped a bear shaped cookie out and S practiced kneading and mixing the clay!
R noticed there were tweezers set out in the free play area with hard wood chips and soft pom poms to exercise picking up and strengthening our fine motor muscles! T collected all the wooden coins and placed them into a pink cup. K gathered all the pom poms and gently placed them onto a big green plate! In the kitchen, L and R worked together to make some delicious apple pies! L practiced slicing the apples and passing them to her friends!
For circle time, we sang our names together and placed our name cards onto the board. Once all our Buds friends’ names were present, we then used number magnets to count out 10 friends! We listened to the Eric Carle themed song “I can do it” and mimicked animal movements again! Our favorite was the elephant stomp! We stomped all over the place and used big movements to move about the classroom!
Today was extra special because we all walked out to Ameshiro park! It was a long walk but we did our best and when we arrived, there were so many pigeons around! We got to practice moving our arms and legs in fun and challenging ways! T discovered a new BIG slide at the park and climbed the stairs to ride it over and over! The monkey bars were very fun to try and climb but for now, we can only climb so high. In time, we hope to climb all the way up on our own! Let’s keep up the great work!
What an awesome day together Buds friends!
Love,
Buds XOXO
