Brown bear, brown bear!

September 10, 2025

Happy Wednesday!

We loved seeing everyone in their Ohana shirts today.

This morning, we had a very special activity after our morning jobs. We painted our sports day banner! We used bubble wrap and paint rollers. It looks amazing and we can’t wait for everyone to see it on Sports Day! We also had a table for kinetic sand. K made 5 little balls out of pink kinetic sand and S made onigiri with his sand. L was busy making heart-shaped sand and gifting them to her friends. Our kitchen was busy as always with many friends cooking delicious food.

CIRCLE TIME

We started our circle time with our colorful ribbons that we saw yesterday. When the teacher held up the red ribbon L said, “Red!” Next K told us it was orange! Then L shared that we had yellow. Next K told us green! Then K told us Blue! Lastly, we had purple. We all chose our favorite color and danced to “The Wheels on the Bus.”

As we settled into circle time, we checked to see who was here today. When the teacher pointed to school K said, “Ohana, big!” Ohana is a big building with 3 different classes. We have Buds, Petals and Flowers. As the teacher held up the names, we all tried to recognize our names. As we stacked the names on the board we noticed there were so many names. In the end, our friend K helped us count how many friends we had today. It was 12! 12 friends joined us in Buds today.

As we learn about colors our story of the day was “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?” As the teacher held the book up L said, “Dog,” but K said, “No, it’s a bear.” As we read the book, we realized it was a brown bear. We saw so many other colored animals throughout the book. Here is what we saw.

K: Blue! Fish!

L: Yellow duck! Horse!

E: Frog! Ribbit ribbit! Purple!

At the end of the book there was a teacher looking at children. L pointed to the children and said, “L, S!”

We enjoyed our story today.

WATER PLAY / FREE PLAY

It is still hot outside so after snack the teacher gave us the choice to either play with trains inside or do water play outside. We had a few friends who wanted to be inside while majority of the friends wanted to be outside. We had so much fun splashing our teacher inside and building a very long train track inside.

Today was filled with many laughs and giggles throughout the day. We have been exploring colors for the past 2 days. We can`t wait to continue to learn more about colors.

Have a great night!

Lots of love,
Buds
