Welcome to buds class. It was a fantastic first day!

August 25 Daily Journal What a fantastic first day of school! A big welcome to our returning families and of course our new families too. P1060402We are looking forward to a great year ahead! Of course there was a little crying today in the beginning but it quickly stopped. P1060415The children had fun exploring the classroom and doing several different activities on the tables and mat. P1060396During free play time the animals, babies and stacking toys were very popular. We played a game to hide the baby and looked in several places to find it. When we found it on the table everyone laughed and the crying stopped. We did some puzzles on one table and on the other table we had play dough and drawing.P1060413Everyone was sharing the play dough cutters and shapes well. We also drew our first pictures today. When we sat down the crayons were stacked up like a tower which made it even more fun.P1060429 In circle time after we sang ‘Who Came to School Today’, we got up and danced to ‘Body rock’ and ‘Can You Point Your Fingers and do the Twist’. P1060431Our Buds are great dancers! Then we got the musical instruments out and sang ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, which was chosen by Lanah. We wanted to dance with the instruments too so we stood up and danced to several more songs.P1060406 It was Nanako’s (Flowers class teacher) birthday in the weekend so we celebrated at school today with all three classes together. We sang ‘If You’re Happy and You Know it’ and some children gave Nanako a birthday crown to wear and cards that the classes had made. We enjoyed singing ‘Happy Birthday’ while Nanako blew out the candles on her cake. Once again, it was a great day. We encouraged the children to bring their drink bottles and snack to the table and help put the toys away at clean up time, which they were happy to do - they had lots of fun! Have a lovely afternoon, Sharee, Sayaka and Goh.
