I like to eat spaghetti at school

We spent the entire day playing with our friends and teachers and doing activities indoors today. It became too hot later in the day so we did extra activities at the tables.

We started off our day playing with the water trough outside on the balcony. While we were sleeping, Shelley looked down onto the balcony below and saw some of our sea creatures lying there. If sea creatures do not have water, we know that they cannot survive. But we also know that our sea creatures are not real! At the large activity table, there was an ???????????????????????????????enormous piece of white paper. You know how our teachers like to recycle well this was another example of recycling. On the back of this huge piece of paper, was our spring art work. Instead of just throwing the paper away, our teachers turned it around for us to create something new on the opposite side. We had some double sided tape, some piece of origami paper to tear into mosaic pieces and stickers. This activity focused on developing our fine motor skills, ???????????????????????????????specifically the strength in our finger tips and our eye hand co-ordination. We tore the origami into pieces and pasted onto the double sided tape and we peeled the stickers off their backing and pasted them onto the paper.

We pasted everything on the paper and we even used the negative sticky shapes. We all had a turn to sit with Hisami and make our own “Very Hungry caterpillar” with a leaf. The leaf had lots of holes in it because the caterpillar had eaten so much food and it needed to eat a leaf, in order to make it’s tummy feel better. We will always remember this story as we have learnt so ???????????????????????????????many different things using the theme from it. We have learnt the days of the week; we have learnt the names of different fruit; we have learnt about metamorphosis and how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly; we have learnt that the butterfly is one of the few creatures in the world that has babies that do not look like it; we learnt that if you eat too much, you get a sore tummy etc.

We are looking forward to showing our parents what we know about the story tomorrow. We spent time playing on the mat with our friends, dressing up in fancy dress clothes. We did a little rehearsal for tomorrow and we told our teachers that our mums, dads and family ???????????????????????????????members are only coming to see us, and listen to us sing songs. They don’t want to hear Shelley singing, or Hisami, or Liezel or Nanako or Goh or Ayake…..just us. So we will use our best singing voices tomorrow.

We started off with our welcome song which is an echo song. We have sung echo songs before but were not sure what an echo is. Shelley started singing fitst and then we copied her. Our first ???????????????????????????????song is called “I am special”. Then we sang the rest of our repertoire which we won’t mention in detail since we want something to be a surprise tomorrow.

Hisami played a game with us which was a kind of “feely” game. We had to feel some things and guess what they were. Earlier in the week, we played a game where we had to listen to a sound and guess what was making the sound. For this game we had to use our sense of hearing. Today’s game, we used our sense of touch. Hisami showed us a few things e. g. a container with Lego pieces, a container with pom poms and a container with beads. We looked at the objects ???????????????????????????????in the containers first and when Hisami hid them underneath a cloth, we had to feel them and guess what they were. It was a fun game. We love playing the game, where we hide underneath a blanket and one of our friends shouts, “Hello……..” and we have to guess who it is.

Love always Shelley, Hisami, Liezel, Nanako, Ayaka and Goh.
