Preparing for Mothers Day breakfast tomorrow

This morning when we arrived at school, there were so many boxes of books outside and then at the end of the day, the boxes had less and less in them. We are so happy that people from our school and the neighbourhood, stopped by to buy books. When our Book Sale is finished, our teachers will add up the money and they will send a message to all our families to tell them how much money we raised from this sale, together with the Wine Tasting event. We are glad that we ???????????????????????????????can send money to people in many different parts of the world and Japan to help them after they experienced so much tragedy and trauma in their lives. We want to thank everyone for supporting the Book Sale this week.

We welcomed Sofie and Vincent back to school after a long break over Golden Week and beyond. They spent some time with our teachers showing their skills at doing puzzles, matching, naming objects, naming colours, telling them what their parents names were and seeing if they knew when their birthday was. Some of us know our parents real names however ???????????????????????????????most of us gave them the names mommy and daddy which our teachers believe is absolutely fine. This is how we know our parents!

We played with play dough at the activity table, did some drawing and spent time on the floor, playing imaginatively in the dress up corner and of course, cooking and shopping. Koh chan had a bag filled with the things and he said that he was waiting for the bus; Vincent also had a bag filled with food, etc and he said that he was going shopping and was going by train. Imaginative play is our favourite play at school, where we dress up sometimes just with a hat or a bag, and we role play with our friends. We pretend that we are mums or dads and do all of the ???????????????????????????????things that we see them doing. We sang our “Hello” song after packing everything away and getting together in a circle holding hands with “Let’s all hold hands in a circle” as our prompt.

Later in the day we started making preparations for our special Mother’s Day breakfast which we are really excited about. We decorated the paper which is the table cloth on our tables, by drawing on it. Our teachers put beautiful red roses in the middle of the table as decorations. Then later in the day our older friends who came downstairs for their after school class, put some designs on the paper using coloured tape. We have pink see through cups for our yoghurt ???????????????????????????????and fruit and we have some little cups which will be for water.

We also have gifts for our mums and a special card that we made using our hands. We think that our mums will love them. We hope that all of our friends did something special for their mums on Sunday, just like we are doing something special for ours tomorrow.

We played a game when we came back from the park, using the one caterpillar which is from our cabbage song. We tried to make one of our fingers look like a caterpillar. Then we crept all ???????????????????????????????along one of our legs and we crept backwards all along our legs too. We held up another caterpillar on our other hand so now we had two caterpillars. Our caterpillars looked at one another, then they kissed each other; then they went apart from one another and then they came together again. Hisami showed us the different food that was on Nina’s shirt today. We thought that some of the food looked like the food that the very hungery caterpillar ate.

We hope that everyone has a nice peaceful evening and we were happy to know that Karl’s mummy, Anja came home today with Henry, Karl’s new baby brother.

See you tomorrow.???????????????????????????????

Love always Shelley, Hisami, Liezel, Nanako, Ayaka and Goh.
