Treasure Hunt
Our theme for this week is “Treasure Hunt”! First in the morning, Koh and Kenichi found some pirate hats and telescope. These are always very popular toys among all the children. None of us had met pirates before, but we know they are a bit scary people because of the skull and cross
bones. We welcomed our new friend Lisa. Lisa came to school with her mom happily and finished her morning job as if she already knew everything what she is supposed to do.On the big table, Lisa and Jennifer found a pirtate puzzle. This puzzle was a little tricky. First, we didn’t know that
the puzzle pieces can be fixed in the front and back, so we thought some pieces are missing. Once we discovered that they have two sides, Lisa and Jennifer immediately completed them without
any teacher’s help. Then we flipped them and made a game board. There were 4 pirate pawns and a dice just like snakes and ladders game. Whoever reaches the goal first could get treasures. We got to know this game’s rule quickly but
every time someone got “Move 3 steps backward” or even “ Back to start”, we all laughed out loud and continued playing. On the small table, we saw some paper pirate hats. We each got white paper skull and two bones. Some of us drew a happy face on the skull, some of us wanted to make a scary skull. We made cross bones just like all the pirates have. After snack time, Liezel read a book called” Pirates Love Underpants”. In this book, these pirates love underpants SO MUCH.
They’re on a special quest to find a pair of golden pants. After reading this book, we talked about pirates. We found out that some pirate wear striped T-shirts, bandanas and even eye patches. We also looked our treasure
box and saw what’s inside. There were necklaces and bracelets. We will make more treasures for our treasure box tomorrow. After this circle time, we all went to the big table and made our
pirate’s face using the paper plate. Some of us added beards with stamp markers or yarn and feathers on the hat. Hana didn’t want to make any beards because her pirate was a girl with long eyelashes. At last, we had waterplay on the third floor. It was another hot and humid day, so we are all happy playing with water. Most of us didn’t mind to get wet. Luka and Kenichi liked to play with the shark. Hana and
Dominik were busy fishing. William heard of buzzing of cicadas and we all tried to catch dragonfly. We hope to play in the swimming pool tomorrow!
