Our musical instruments and Welcome Jack!
Good morning Monday! We are very happy to have Jack in Buds class. It seems that he’s settled in and we are also looking forward to have more fun times with him in the future. To start off our day, we saw some tissue boxes on our table and we asked our teachers what we needed to do with our art work today. Our teachers said that we’re going to do magical drums and to make
them beautiful we have to put some colors and sequins. Sofia, with her curiosity, began to point at the materials and when she saw the foam shapes, she said all the names respectively. Yurika was always happy to get the toy phones and she started calling somebody. It was very amazing how we can imagine and create our own situation. This only proves that we are really learning when we’re playing. With the help of our teachers’ questions, we are discovering many things around us by involving ourselves more with the activities that we have in class.
Kaia came and all of her friends greeted her with a big hello. Everyone was so happy to see her and most of us said goodbye to her mommy. It was time to clean up because we heard the bell again. So, we all began singing “Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere! Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share!” As we sang the song, we picked up the toys and put them all back in the containers. Jack needs more guidance for now and we feel that
pretty soon he will be able to clean up with us. Honestly, he’s so fantastic for he already knew how to put away his placemat by himself. He can learn things really fast. Taiga was very helpful too because he helped his teachers to pack the plastic kitchen toys. He did this slowly but was able to finish tidying up properly. Rei, on the other hand, needed to be reminded for a while before she was able to put things away. Our teachers said “Good job, Rei!”
During our circle time, we had our magical song box on the floor. John took our toy microphone and it chose one friend at a time to sing a song for everyone. Yurika and Sofia couldn’t wait for their turn because they always said “My turn! My turn!” They both sang the songs beautifully and it was very fascinating to see how confident they are now in class. We then listened to the story of four friends who like to play some musical instruments. We learned the piano, guitar, drums and maracas. Most of us pretended to play with these
instruments. Kaia kept on repeating the piano. It seemed that she liked to play the piano. So, John opened the cabinet door. And he showed us the big piano. We played for several times. We sang “Do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do” and then going down, “Do, ti, la, sol, fa, mi, re, do”.
We went to the park today and Jack was having a great time playing with the sand tools. It was so delightful to see him adjusting pretty well in class. Thank you so much Ohana for the wonderful experience again! Have a great day!
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Nanako
