Picnic time
We missed Nanako today who swapped with Maki in Buds class for the morning. Thank you Maki for all your hard work and help. This morning when we arrived we again saw the play tent on the carpet but there were not the four play cubes. Soon Adam and Eito fount two of them in a bag and when they pulled them out of the bag they expanded to make two big squares. The trick was to then open the big squares to make the full sized cubes. It took us a little while to figure out how to
open them but we soon got the hang of it. On the table were
some art materials for doing free art with our friends. There was some origami paper, wavy scissors, colored pencils, colored markers, tape, crayons and sparkly pens. We also saw on the second table the ‘count a color’ game as well as the colored wooden blocks and cards to make pictures. We only had a short time for our free play this morning as we wanted to get to the park before any rain started and also to allow lots of time for our party and
graduation practice for next week. We put our smocks on as soon as we got to school and put our snacks in the school bag so it didn’t take us very long to get ready this morning. We had our snack in the park on the picnic sheet this morning and it was good to get some fresh air. The park was nice and warm and we played with the bubbles, played tag and enjoyed digging in the sand box. There were some maintenance men in the park with
us today and they told us they will be cutting down two of the trees in the park at the end of June.
This makes us sad as these trees were very beautiful in the spring with lots of cherry blossom and also gives us lots of shade in the summer months. After we got back from the park we had a little more time to do ‘free play’ and were joined by a new friend Aria who came to visit us for a few hours today. Nile and Alexis very kindly looked after Aria and
took her to play in the tent with the balls. They together then went to the play kitchen and brought lots of food, plates, cups and cutlery to the tent to have a picnic. On the table
Eito, Adam and Tokutaro played a board game while Arata tried the colored block pictures with his friends. It was soon time to pack away and we then did our graduation practice as well as singing our English, Japanese and Chinese songs. We are getting very, very good at the ceremony and songs. We then made a square with the chairs to play musical chairs with our friends and today Kosei was the winner. Congratulations Kosei!
Have a great weekend,
All our love, Darren, Ayaka & Maki
