How many legs do you have?
Hello Monday! Buds class is always well-prepared for a wonderful experience that we have at Ohana today! We’re all excited to see our friends and teachers again after a relaxing weekend with our family. Today, we did our morning jobs and some of us needed help from
our teachers. Yurika was so thrilled to go and find her favorite toys from the classroom. She found some necklaces and she lined them up on the floor. Lisa took her favorite animal book. While she was looking at the pictures, she was also making a sound as if telling a story to someone. She really likes to have this alone time and it helps her to feel more calm and peaceful throughout the day.
Our circle time was very entertaining because we have our singer friends today, Sofie and Leanne. They always sing beautifully and even some of our younger friends get influenced by their sheer energy. We also moved and shook our bodies to the music for it gives more interest and energy during our lesson. Taiga was happily humming some songs and he liked dangling his feet. Alexa was also participating pretty well because she loves following her friends the entire time. We talked about the
spider today and we learned that spiders have many feet. We counted them and Dominik raised his hand to volunteer. He counted carefully so as to make sure that he’s saying the numbers consecutively. And with the guidance from his teachers, he was able to complete it. We are so proud of him because he can count now and he’s doing this with so much confidence in him. Hence, he was able to count and find out that spiders have eight legs. Our
teachers told us to count out loud again and all of us even sang the numbers in chorus. It was amazingly sung and we felt so proud of ourselves. They also asked how many legs we have and Leanne replied that she has two and Dominik said the same thing. Then, we also listened to a brilliant story of Itsy bitsy Spider. The first part of the story was almost the same with the lines from the song but as we flipped the pages one by one, we realized that the spider went to so many places and it was so amazing how she was able to weave a big web and stayed there bathing in the sun. After a very long journey that the spider had, she managed to
relax and go to sleep. So, we sang a lullaby song for her. And Yurika was the first one to lie down on the floor and she was pretending that she was sleeping too. Rei-chan was observing at first and then she later joined in the group.
We welcomed Miyashita-sensei again today. We were so happy to see him again. We greeted him with a big smile and he seemed to be very happy seeing us too. We started our gym class with simple workout. We spread our hands to make enough space for everyone. And then, he told us to put our hands up together and stretch from left to right and right to left. We also did some animal actions and our favorite was the frog jump. Kaia was very active and she loved doing these animal actions all the time. She enjoys pretending to become an animal and she would jump around the classroom until everyone copies her. Miyashita-sensei made a tunnel again and it was so fun because we have to crawl slowly until we passed by it. The last workout challenge that we had was jumping around the mats. Miyashita-sensei put the four mats around and he asked to jump over the gaps that we find in
between the mats. Sofie was so good and she was able to accomplish without hesitation. Thank you so much Miyashita-sensei and see you again next week!
Today, we went to the fish pond and we’re so fascinated by so many fishes. We really tried to count them all but there were too many of them. And then, we also found that they go in different sizes. We called the biggest fish daddy fish, next to it was a mama fish and the little ones, we called them baby fishes. Our teachers asked if the fish can fly. But Sofia said that they can only swim in the water. We learned that they can’t fly because they don’t have wings like a butterfly. They can only swim because of their fins.
Thank you so much again Ohana for a great day! We love being here and we hope to see you all tomorrow!
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
