Cutting the play dough and painting with a toothbrush
Hello Thursday! What a wonderful morning we had, and the Buds are always ready for new adventures at school. Yurika and Ritsuka came early today and they both got the press down ball that we had in the shelf. And then, they decided to do some cutting on our activity tables. The activity was about cutting and pasting the used sheets of paper on the drawings that were prepared. Dominik was very serious doing the Montessori activities. He liked the stacking cones. These cones were divided into several pieces
and we had to put them together according to the colors from the inside. Sofie came with a lollipop but she managed to put it away and then started playing again with her friends. Rupert surprisingly was looking for some stuffed toys today. And then, he later looked for his toy cars again.
Our circle time was very good today. We sang the regular songs that we have in the classroom. And then, we started doing our simple body movements
so that we could have our warm-up before we can start our lesson. Some of us were a bit sleepy but it was definitely a better chance for us to express more of ourselves through dancing and singing. Alexa brought her Minnie Mouse again but today, she dressed her up like a princess. We also love to count numbers 1-5. Our teachers took out a book about numbers and we saw
beautiful pictures from it. We saw one soft caterpillar, two bumpy snails, three fluffy cats, four feathery penguins, and five sparkly fish. We loved touching the pictures because each one had various textures. We managed to count and feel the texture and it made us so happy that we learned new words as well.
After our circle time, we went to our activity tables and we noticed that there were long rolls of play dough. And there were also some scissors lined up. On the other side, we had some long piece of paper that covered the whole table. And then, there were trays of purple paint on top. Our teachers also gave us several toothbrushes for us to use. We learned that we will be using the toothbrush to paint on the paper. And we will be cutting the play dough. Wow, it was a wonderful experience for us to have the different activities that we have in the classroom. Our teachers also taught us how to use the scissors. Our thumb should go in the small circle and some of our fingers can go in the
big circle. We called our thumb, daddy finger and the rest of our fingers, family fingers. Sofie and Chloe were always very happy to do the play dough activities and to practice their cutting. Alexa was quietly doing her own job and we knew that she was also enjoying the cutting part too. Leanne and Kaia were very focused on their toothbrush painting. And we are so proud to say that each month we are learning different colors. We used purple today and we dipped our toothbrushes in the paint and started spreading the paint all over the long white paper.
Today, we also learned about using our walking feet in the classroom. We noticed that some of us really liked to jump on the cushions. Our teachers said that we have to be careful and quiet in our library. Of course, we learned how to observe the rules especially being safe in and out of the classroom.
We went to the park today! It’s getting warmer and warmer each day. We also love playing with our teachers and friends. Our favorite part in the park were the slides and sandbox. Nikolas was always the first one who would like to go and play in the sandbox. We also love to use the swing so we lined up patiently and sat down on the bench beside it.
Thank you so much Ohana for the wonderful time that we’re always having each day! Have a good day everyone and hope to see you all tomorrow!
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
