How do you feel today? And bye Tanaka sensei
What a fantastic Thursday! It was great to see our new classroom
setup! It was more open and the space was quite bigger for us to play with. We had our library and kitchen play area on the other side of the room and our circle time corner was even more spacious than before. The ambiance of the whole room was so stunning. And the Buds felt positively different while inside the classroom.
Circle time is always part of our routine. We sang our good morning song and then we did some finger plays. We sang “Twinkle, twinkle little star” and made our little diamond with our hands, we moved on to “itsy, bitsy spider” and used our thumbs and fingers to make a spider. And then, we gleefully did
the “One little finger” putting our index finger our head, nose, chin, tummy, knees and feet. We talked about our feelings. We talked about being happy, sad and sleepy. John drew three faces on the white board and he said that he always feels happy. But sometimes, he also feels sad especially when the weather is not good. And at night, he said that he feels sleepy and just like most of us do. Our teachers asked us one by one and most of the Buds feel happy but other kids said that they were sad and sleepy. We pointed at the picture of how we feel today and say the words.
It was Tanaka-sensei’s last day today. And we thank him for the wonderful gym class every week. We are all happy with what he has done for us. Hence, we made a very special card for him. We asked Rei-chan to give it to him because she didn’t miss
any gym class from him. He looked very happy when we gave him the card and we heard him say “thank you” for so many times as well. We are really going to miss him. And we surely know that the next gym teacher would be as good as him. We wish you all the best and good luck on your next journey. Please continue to shower the children with your amazing teaching skills.
With our gym class, we did our warm-up exercises again. And we did some postures like the table, mountain and airplane. And our first activity was going round and round with different
animal actions. Kaia was really good in doing the rabbit hop and Haruto was so cute when he did the crocodile crawl. Rei-chan was also doing simple movements but we were very sure that she was trying to copy Tanaka-sensei’s actions as much as she could. Next, we played the red-stop-green-go game again. But this time, Tanaka-sensei said that when the traffic light would show yellow, we had to stand against the wall because the truck would come. We were all great with our listening skills. We were pretending to drive our own car and of course we had to follow the rules in traffic. And for the final activity, we made a big pancake again and we also ate it with big bites. It was so yummy!
We went to the park today. And then, Maki brought a special tool for us to play with. It was a long blue tube. And inside the tube, there was water in it. When Maki opened it and waved from side to side, bubbles came out from it and everyone started to run after the bubbles to pop it. Chloe, Lisa and Kaia were very
happy and they began to chase after them. It was also good to practice our tracking skills. We didn’t even know that we are actually moving around the park. We ran after the bubbles as fast as we can. It was also fantastic to see some of the Buds were aware of the space, for example, they knew where to go and not to go. Only the Buds went to the park today, we missed some of the kids for they also bring joy in our everyday adventures.
Thank you so much to the teachers who are always there for us. And it was a delightful day that we have again!
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
