When I grow up I want to be a .............

DSCF4400This morning many of us completed our beading activity on the main table. The beads are very small and stick together when ironed afterwards. Darren took our completed beads and used the steam iron on them. They all stuck together and made beautiful shapes. They are going to be put on display in the classroom and can take them home soon. On the carpet Riko used the large tweezers to sort a range of wooden shapes into a box. The pieces are a little hard to pick up but she stuck to it and kept on practicing. Also on the carpet Adam and Tokutaro used the Kapla DSCF4401blocks to start building. When the teachers asked them “What are you building”? They replied “It’s a secret”. On the second table Gaby saw the cork boards, wooden DSCF4402shapes, nails and hammers and wanted to give it a try. She placed each of the wooden shapes on the cork first and then started knocking the nails into the cork to hold the pieces in place. Jeremy also became interested and made a picture of a car using the longer wooden pieces. Soon it was time to pack away the toys and just as we completed this task Arata arrived bearing gifts for white day. Kosei had also brought along some white day gifts for the girls in the class too. The girls all said thank you and this made Arata and Kosei very happy. We decided that because today was such aDSCF4409 sunny day that we would take our snack and water bottles with us to the park. We DSCF4410soon got our coats on and were off. At the park the benches were already occupied but this was not a problem as we had brought along our picnic sheet. We sang the snack time song together and as soon as we finished eating we were off to play. We played lots of tag with Nanako and also some Sumo with Hisami from Petals class. When we came back to the classroom we had a visitor Shelley from Petals class who came to talk to us all about being nice to our friends. We all discussed things that we are good at, things we could do well and things that we are not so good DSCF4416DSCF4418at yet. Just because we can’t do some things yet doesn’t make us bad and so we don’t need to use words that are not nice with our friends who can’t do things yet. We then had a good think about what we want to be when we grow up and started a drawing based on our ideas, Alexis for example told us she wanted to be a jeweler and so she drew lots of jewelry. In the center of the page there will be a photograph and so we could only use the edge of the paper for our drawing. We used only pencil for this part and will add the color later using sparkly DSCF4423pens and colored pencils and markers.
