What a wonderful Valentine’s Gift!
The Buds were so happy to be here again! Lisa and Leanne immediately went to their favorite places and got their costumes that they liked to wear. It was pretty nice to see that all of us get better each day. Lisa and Nikolas have been with us for 2 weeks and we feel that they are doing great now. Good job to both of you!
It was an amazing circle time that we had today. We actually sat on our chairs and we felt very different and happy at the same time because we got our own place to sit. Everybody was so relaxed and we were actually dangling our feet when we were waiting for our teachers to start our lesson.
Time to sing the Good Morning song and we all had to clap our hands and greet each other with a big and warm smile. And then, John took out the small song box that had the magical microphone inside. First, Leanne volunteered to have her turn and so we gave her the opportunity to show her singing talent. And then, she picked the song “Where is thumbkin?”. She sang with some body dancing and shaking and everyone from Buds, even the teachers, were so amused by her talent. She was very confident and we all think that she’s going to be a superstar someday. Haruto got “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, (Dominik was cheering him in the background) Lanah sang the “ABC song”, Sofie performed “Old McDonald had a farm”, and Hana showed us how to sing “Row, row, row your boat” with feelings and gestures.
The performances were totally inspiring because the
younger ones were all starting to sing and dance as well. Gradually, we are all finding our way in this class and it was really nice to have our teachers who have been very patient with us from the very beginning.
After our circle time, we went to our art tables and John showed a white paint and red cards. Our teachers showed us how to make a stamp and we surprisingly saw what shape we made. A white heart! We were so excited to give this card to our loving parents. So, we made it certain that we stamped a lot of hearts in our cards to let them know how much we love them and cherish them too. And also, we’re very thankful for everything that they have done for us. We love you!
The second part of our Valentine’s project was the “Strawberry Chocolate Fondue”. We saw some strawberries on sticks. And wait…some of us couldn’t
believe our eyes! We actually saw a chocolate but not just a regular one, it was melted and the smell was very amazing. We all stood beside the table and our teachers started showing us how to dip our strawberries in chocolate. And then, we had to give some touches of sweet candy sprinkles so that it would look more beautiful when we give them to our parents.
The experience was new and yummy. Of course, we all enjoyed our time and exerted our effort to make it possible. It was such a beautiful moment when we knew that we have something to take home and give to our loved ones.
It was our gym class again for today and we all participated well in our class. Rupert, Kaia, Sofie, Taiga and Rei helped their teachers to lead by showing them how energetic and cooperative they were. It was so cute to see ourselves perform gymnastics.
At the park, we also had a great time. Nikolas started digging in the sandbox together with his other friends and Lisa got some tools and cups to proceed with her mini-expedition. The other kids went on with their usual routine. They even established their own groups to find a place where they could play quietly all by themselves. Hana and Lanah consistently got their toys and trowels. Hana said, “I am going to make a chocolate cake for you” and Lana replied, “This is my cupcake for you!”
When we went back to class, John read a story about Mr. Panda. The story was about Mr. Panda who offers his doughnuts to animals that he would see. He would then ask, “Would you like some doughnuts?” and when one would say “YES, I want the yellow one!” He would then turn away and say, “No, I have changed my mind!” Most of the animals were very puzzled why he would offer his doughnuts but change his mind in the end. So, they all walk away and ignore him. But the hyena asked Mr. Panda, “Could you PLEASE give me a doughnut?” And Mr. Panda gave everything to him and said, “You can have them all, I don’t want them anyway”.
Thank you for everything! There would be no class tomorrow and on Thursday. So we’ll see each other on Friday!
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
