Boys day.
Wednesday 4th February, 2015It was such a small class today! We were missing three friends, Vincent, Miyu and Giorgia. They didn’t feel good this morning. There were only six children in our class, and there were only boys. We hope that they feel better soon and we can see them tomorrow. We spent lots of time playing with our trains this morning. Our train track was very long with the train station, up the hill, down the hill, some tunnels and some intersections. All of us had some trains in our hands and we let them go around our track. When accidents happened, we had to stop our trains and fix things. This is very constructive play and we had to concentrate for a while. Also this play helps us use our imagination skills. We are learning a lot though play with our friends every day. Our first morning activity was cutting shapes. Last week, we already cut some simple shapes: triangles, squares, rectangles and circles. Today’s shapes were more complicated ones: arrows, hexagons and fat crosses. We reviewed how to put our fingers in the holes of the scissors first, after that practiced how to open
and shut the scissors. William L was very careful to cut on the lines. Daiki was good at using his left hand to hold and move the paper. After cutting the shapes, Hisami showed us another shape. The paper was folded in half and only one side had a funny line. She cut two pieces of paper at once, and she opened it slowly. Guess which shape we saw?!?! Heart♥ We tried to cut the heart shape just like Hisami did, and we all did it! Everyone cut a beautiful orange heart. Valentines’ day is coming up next week, so we can make something for our lovely family and friends with our hearts. Our second activity was writing our own names on the white board. We found our name card on the table, and
then we looked carefully to copy the first letter of our names. We took turns at the table, so all of us could have a chance to see our friends writing. Some of our friends tried to write their whole name on the board. Koh wrote his name completely, K,o,h! Before park time, Liezel read a book for us today! The book was “We are going on a lion hunt.” She read and sang the story along with the tune. It was fun to listen to her story. We thought that she was a great story teller. Thank you, Liezel! And of course, we enjoyed another book too. Today is Wednesday, so it means,,,,, Wacky Wednesday! Our eyes were wide open looking for the wacky. When we found the wacky, we put our hands up
without shouting out in the circle. If our name was called, we tried to explain in our language instead of pointing it out on the book. It was good practice to use our words. Manuel said, “The tree is standing in the toilet.” Luka said, “Pink socks in the shower.” You can find more wackys in the photo. We hope that our friends will feel better tomorrow. Please have a good rest,
Vincent, Miyu and Giorgia! Love always Hisami, Liezel and Goh
