We love our Teddy Bear and the amazing fish pond
It was a very busy day for everyone. The Buds class was here to enjoy a wonderful day again at Ohana! During our free playtime, we got our favorite toys because we know that it could create
more imagination and adventure during our stay. Yurika got the fishing puzzle; it was so nice to see how she has been developing her sensory-motor skills. She liked to feel and touch things as much as possible. And Lanah chose to work on our surprise gift for Karl. Riku, was trying to look around the classroom for what he could do but he eventually decided to play with the train and train tracks.
Haruto and Taiga also got some trains and train tracks to help Riku with his construction. Haruto lined up some trains
while waiting for Riku to finish assembling the train tracks on the floor. Taiga did the same thing too. He was actually following what Haruto was doing during their playtime.
Dominik was trying to build his own fire engine. He used some lego blocks to put the parts together. After he assembled everything, the toy looked like a tower with four wheels and a
ladder on top. Sofie was playing with her play dough again. She was asked by her teachers what she was doing and she said that she didn’t know too. Maybe next time, Sofie can make food for us again. We really liked the bread that she made for us yesterday.
Then on our circle time, we talked about the weather again. This time, our teachers showed some cards that we can choose. So, we chose the “sunny” day. And we started singing the
weather song again. Next, we held hands together while singing “Skidamarink”; we had to do this every now and then so that it may develop our relationship with the other kids. We gave a high five and a big hug to our friends. It felt really wonderful to know that we are all important members of the Buds class.
Later on, we met our new friend. It was our cute Teddy Bear. We sang the “Teddy Bear Song” and we passed him around and gave him a big hug. It was so great to show love to our Teddy Bear because we knew that he needed more of it and everybody was willing to give him that.
And on our gym class, we had a jolly time with Tanaka-sensei. As always, we did our warm-up exercises. We did some animal movements. Of course, everyone was putting all their effort and Taiga really enjoyed doing the bear crawl. It was very surprising how flexible he can sometimes be.
Rei-chan was also very attentive for she always liked to follow what Tanaka-sensei was telling us to do. We did a cute tunnel posture wherein you have to place your knees close to your chest and make sure that you have to put your feet together as much as you can.
And the other two postures that we did today were the table and the balancing position. Of course, we couldn’t do both postures perfectly but we really tried our best to do what our
sensei told us. When we were doing the table position, Kaia stayed beside Tanaka-sensei to have a closer look on how to do it. Most of us were having fun especially when Sayaka did the same position with Yurika on top of her. Everyone from our group cheered for both of them because we didn’t
realize that Sayaka could be very strong for a lady like her.
Tanaka-sensei played a game with us. He said that we needed to dance to the music that he was playing in the background. If the music would stop, we had to stop and find our friend too. Yurika really liked Karl so she really had to find him and she would say, “Karl, Karl, Karl”. And then Hana and Kaia also held hands and
danced together. And lastly, Dominik and Haruto really liked putting their cheeks together. By the way, for every stop, Tanaka-sensei would tell us what to do like for example, we can find our friend to hold hands, stick our backs and cheeks together.
After a great workout, we went back to our classroom. We listened to our teacher’s story about Doris the dog and Carl the chicken. They like singing with everyone. Some of us did the
color books, we learned black and white. Also, we talked about shapes that we could put in our color page. We saw a circle, triangle and square.
When we finished our color books, we all went to the…FISH POND! We didn’t go to the park because it was very wet. But we had fun looking at the little fishies in the pond. Then, we started singing 5 little fishies in the sea. We really enjoyed our time again with our
teachers, friends and the environment that we have in Ohana.
Lots of love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
