Welcome back Leanne and Kaia! Happy birthday Riku!
Welcome back Leanne and Kaia! It was so nice to see you again and we know that you had a great holiday. Today, they also met their new teacher – John. Leanne gave a big and beautiful smile which everyone would love to look at. Kaia and her mum were also so glad to see everyone in Ohana. They said “Happy New Year!” to the kids and teachers.
Hana was so busy cooking for everyone today. She prepared the food on the table and all the kids just sat down and were waiting for their yummy delicacies. Kaia took some toy cars and buses with her and she was making a “broommmm” sound while playing around the classroom. Of course, Karl instantly joined her with their transportation play. It was very creative for they were making sounds of the vehicles while talking about the buses and cars. Kaia said, “My bus is so big, I have this bus, bus, bus”. She was actually saying this in a singing manner. And Karl replied, “My horse can ride on your bus but he can also run fast”.
After a nice playtime with my friends, we went with Sayaka, Maki and John to have the circle time. We sang “How are you today?”, we tried to review the different feelings like happy, sad, sleepy and angry. Hana, Karl, Leanne said that they were happy but Kaia said that she was a bit sleepy. So, we stood up and danced to the tune of “Baa, baa, black sheep”,and “Old McDonald” because this month’s theme was all about animals.
We also had a birthday celebrant today. Happy birthday Riku! We got really good treats from Riku’s dad and he brought some cakes and pudding for everyone. Ryo (Riku’s dad) also mentioned that Masami (Riku’s mum) stayed up until 4 o’clock in the morning just to make the wonderful pudding and fruit sticks. So, Ryo and Mari (Riku’s sister) came to bring the treats for us. We were so full and we definitely enjoyed everything.
After Riku’s birthday, we finished washing our hands and putting on our jackets and smocks. Our teachers took us to the park and we were very careful crossing the streets. We even saw a police officer and we greeted him “konnichiwa, police officer” and performed a hand salute. He gave us a smile and went back to his post. We finally arrived at the park and the Petals class was there too. We played with Petals class students, Shelley, Hisami and Liezel.
We all had a great day. Thanks to our teachers who are always there to help us.
Love,
John, Sayaka and Maki
