A great visit to the fire station

18 November – Daily Journal

??????????Some Buds spent a long time at the art table dipping cars and trucks into paint and making tracks. The tires made interesting patterns on the paper and Buds zoomed the cars around the paper.??????????

The kitchen was busy today too with lots of Buds wanting a turn with the rice cooker. Sometimes we forget to use our words and it can be hard to take turns but these kinds of toys give us lots of ??????????chances to practice using words and taking turns.

After an early snack it was time to head off to the fire station. Yay! We talked about the fire station and Buds know there are fire trucks or fire engines at the fire station so they were all excited to go. Buds did a really good job of walking all the way there with no complaints.??????????

When we got to the fire station we looked inside the mobile control center van and then we climbed through an ambulance. We went ??????????out the back of the fire station and the fire fighters talked to us about being safe. We all said together “We will not play with fire”. Then a fire fighter showed us how fast they get ready when they head off in the fire truck. He even put the tank on. Buds had fun trying on the helmets and jackets. Some of the helmets were real and very?????????? heavy, as were the jackets. We also climbed up the steps of the fire truck (they were big) and through to ??????????the other side. Finally we took some more photos, hi-fived the fire fighters and said thank you and off we went heading back towards school, popping into the park for a bit more a run around. It was a great day and the Buds that stayed went to sleep very quickly!??????????

??????????When we came back we got out our fire truck and sang ‘Fire truck, fire truck, what can you see’ and Buds took turns to put their vehicles in the line.

Thank you??????????
