Off to the temple we went for 7-5-3

This morning the table looked so pretty with lots of different colored cellophane on it. It was cut into strips so Buds had to hold it and cut or snip of pieces. We are keeping them for a rainy day art project.

Some Buds concentrated really hard on doing the construction puzzles on the table this morning. They are 4, 6 and 8 piece puzzles. We were happy to see Buds persevere when they couldn’t work out where pieces go. Everyone who tried finished a puzzle or two.

We sat around the cardboard and looked at what we had painted yesterday. We could see the sky, some trees and dirt and a lake Buds decided. But there were no roads or railway tracks. The teachers gave Buds pieces of grey tape and they stuck them on to make roads. First we coordinated with them on where to stick so we could have one long road and then we let them stick the tape wherever they wanted to make lots of roads with some connecting. When we were happy there were enough roads we talked about what vehicles go on the roads. “Cars, trucks” said Buds we showed them some pictures and they also said “Bus’ and bicycle”. Buds chose two each to stick on the roads. Buds did a good job making sure they stuck them on the roads and not in the trees etc. What flies in the sky asked the teachers. “Airplanes shouted a few Buds. Then Sharee made a helicopter sound and Buds shouted “helicopter” too. We put airplanes and helicopters into the sky. Next it was time to make the railway tracks. Buds dipped toothpicks into glue and stuck them on the cardboard. Our map is looking great!

After snack we walked down to the temple with Petals class. We wished for a happy and healthy life for our Buds and then gave them their ‘Chitose ame’ bags.

Buds wanted to carry their bags to the park but they kept scraping on the ground so the teachers took care of them.

It was lovely and sunny at the park and most Buds ended up taking off their sweater or jacket after being busy on the slides, the climbing wall and in the sand box.
