Happy birthday party to Jonah, Kaia and Lanah and a police car visit!

11 November – Daily Journal

??????????Happy birthday party to Jonah, Kaia and Lanah! Today we celebrated Buds’ November birthdays. We were lucky to have Lori, Fani and Reina come in to help celebrate, as well as Rita, Kaia’s Grandma.

First thing in the morning some Buds drew pictures and we can?????????? see them spending more time on their drawings, using more colors and their drawings becoming ??????????more creative. Some Buds like to tell us about what they are drawing. Mummy and Daddy feature a lot. Some Buds went first to the fine motor table and made snakes, donuts and other foods with the play dough. We have a great play dough recipe so please let us know if you ever want a copy. Some buds also?????????? did some cutting.

??????????We cleaned up and it was time for the birthday party. Everyone sat in the circle and Sharee had a case with some things inside. The items represented our special events for today. First Jonah opened it and pulled out a police car. We talked about the police car coming today. Then Lanah, Kaia and Jonah each pulled out a foam cupcake. What are these for we wondered? To celebrate the November birthdays today! Kaia, Jonah and Lanah ??????????happily sat on the chairs while Buds gave them the birthday crowns ??????????we had made and then the birthday cards. Jonah showed us the special birthday present he got, golf clubs. He likes playing golf with his Daddy at the driving range and in Yoyogi Park.

We danced to a couple of action songs and then it was time to sit down for our party snack. Jonah, Kaia and Lanah each had a muffin with a candle in it and after lighting them we all sang Happy Birthday and they blew out their ??????????candle. We had cheese bread, fruit, popcorn and muffins for our ??????????snack. Thank you Mums for bringing the delicious snacks.

Wow, we went outside and there was a police car and a police motorbike! Buds were so excited to see the policeman too. Actually we decided to call him a police officer because then we didn’t have any gender issues. The police officer put the police car’s siren up and down and Buds were excited to see it flashing. He also put it on silent mode and when we listened carefully we could hear it whirring. The motorbike was pretty cool too. It’s siren was also turned on but it was quite loud so it was quickly turned off again. Finally we all took a ??????????turn to sit in the police car and hold the steering wheel pretending to drive. We said ‘arigatou gozaimashita’ and headed off to the fish pond.

??????????We also want to welcome Taiga to Buds class. Taiga had a wonderful first day and we look forward to many more.

We had a look at the fish and it suddenly started to rain so we quick marched back to school.

When we came back some Buds tried out Jonah’s golf clubs and some did the peg boards and the rest of the Buds enjoyed reading books.

Thanks for a great day

Sharee, Sayaka and Goh
