January 28 – Sound makers

Happy Thursday! We arrived at school with a big smile on our faces and we just love greeting and giving a hug to our friends and teachers. Wait a minute…Shelley is here to help us out and we are happy to have her today. It is such an honor and at the same time fun to be with her for the rest of the day. We did our morning jobs and we all had a wonderful time accomplishing the tasks that we needed to do in the morning. On our art table, we continued our xylophone art. We had four colors today and used them according to our preference. It isDSCN6347 always nice to practice how to hold the brush nicely so that it would be easier for us to spread the colors on our cardboard. We always have to remember that we should always be creative and imaginative in whatever ways we want our artworks to be.

The other table was quite interesting too. We had our newly made play dough today and it’s really nice to touch and feel the softness and the doughy texture of it. We made several shapes and made sure that we could use the right utensils for our activity. We love the rolling pins, cookie cutters with the different shapes and the popsicle sticks as well.

During our circle time, Sharee talked about the sounds of the different materials that we have in the classroom. We’ve got some glass and metal containers and realized that it was always nice to experiment with the sound once in a while.

We went to the park today and it’s also nice to have our friends and teachers singing songs and exploring our neighborhood. We are also very glad that everyone is so settled. Thank you so much, Ohana for the great day! See you all again tomorrow!

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds class 2015-2016
