I Am Special!
Happy Tuesday! We are fond of playing games in Flowers Class. One of our favorite games is guessing games. Today we played What Am I? and won against Vieda because we were able to guess 9 things! It was great to have a game on reading three-letter words where we tried to read the words on the small whiteboard. We love learning through games😊
CIRCLE TIME
After dancing while pretending to be robots, we shared our thoughts about today’s question of the day (Are you special?)
Here’s our ideas:
Yu: No, because I’m not cute.
Vieda: (Whispered something to Yu)
Yu: She said I’m cute.
Vieda: Flowers, do you agree with what I whispered to Yuto?
Flowers: YES!!!!
Yuto: Oh (smiled)!
Yi: No, because I don’t know.
Ko: I don’t know.
Mi: Yes, because mommy loves me.
R: Yes, because my mommy and daddy like me and they are always nice to me.
Ai: Yes, because mommy made me.
Re: Yes, because I have my sister. But maybe not because sometimes she’s not nice to me.
Bn: I don’t know.
Zo: Yes, because mommy is so happy.
Co: Yes, because mommy and daddy always take care of me.
To: Yes, because mommy and daddy like me so much. Everyday!
Ty: Yes, because I will go somewhere.
O: Yes, because when I wake up, I ask, “Can I play game? She say yes!”.
Ma: Yes, because my mommy say I’m so cute and baby!
We feel special for different reasons and yet experience the same good feelings because someone made us feel special. We tried to explore the deeper meaning of being special. So, we read a book called “This is Me!” by Claire Taylor and Tim Budgen.
STORY TIME
Interestingly, we found that every page gave the word “special” a meaning we didn’t think before. Re was quick enough to notice some things about some of the children in the playground.
Re: Look, this boy do not have his hand. What happened to his hand?
Mi: Special chair is wheelchair.
Ri: Girl’s eyes are a little bit small.
Re: The girl’s leg is different. She looks like a robot.
Sh: The girl has something in her ear.
Ma: Some people when they are born, they only have one arm. Some people have no head.
Sh: There’s some people who talk with drawing.
Last month, we learned that there are different ways to communicate with others. In this book, it also talked about communicating by smiling, blinking, gazing, drawing or by a special computer.
Just before we finished our circle time, Re asked, “I want to know what we call the leg of this girl?”. Other friends also said, “Yes, we want to know the name!”. It was almost lunch time, so we thought it could be good for our homework. Please check our photos for today for this homework.
Please remember that tomorrow is our OHANA T-SHIRT/SWEATSHIRT day😉
Stay warm!
Love,
Flowers XOXO
