WASSHOI, Today is Mikoshi procession day!
Happy Friday everyone!
Finally, today is THE day! Today is mikoshi procession day! After working hard with our petals and flowers friends to make our mikoshi, it's finally time to parade through the streets of Azabujuban with it!
When we arrived in the classroom, we did our morning routine and then we all went to Liezel and Tamara to put on our Matsuri outfits! We had a happi coat and a belt as well as a necklace with bells! We also had hachimaki to wear but it was so hot that many of our friends preferred not to wear it but even without hachimaki we were ready for our parade!
After changing we ate our snack and it was soon time for us to start our parade around Azabu Juban!
Our flowers friends carried the mikoshi while our petals friends and us, buds friends, walked behind them all together shouting “WASSHOI”!
After doing some research we learned that WASSHOI means “carry peace”, so cool!
Everyone in the street was cheering for us, we were all so proud! But it was so hot, we were happy to return to the classroom to take off our happy coats.
What an adventure, we look forward to doing it again next year!
Once back in the classroom we played with balloons that Brandon transformed into different animals for us, it was fun! And we also played with the food toys and the kitchen!
After a fun story time with Tamara, it was time to wash our hands to eat our lunch!
Thank you for today everyone!
Have all a great afternoon and a wonderful weekend and see you all on Monday everyone!
Love,
Buds
