Today is TAIKO DAY!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today we started the day by discovering what was waiting for us on our activity tables!

To remind us of our Sweet potato digging day of yesterday, we had sweet potatoes and roots on the sensory table that we can touch to learn more about it! A, L, O, N and M were particularly curious and stayed around the table for a long time observing the sweet potatoes. L said “they’re potatoes, they’re food, they’re good!”.

On another table we had puzzles, Bead mazes, hammering toys and connecting disks. We really liked these activities which stimulated us a lot and made us work on our creativity! I was focused on the puzzles while L, N and B had fun creating large structures and animals with the connecting disks, N was happy to say that they had built a snake. D on another table was concentrating on solving the beads maze.

T spent almost his entire morning in the free play area where he trained for the big event of the day: today was TAIKO DAY! And by training, he motivated all his friends to come and train with him! First I joined him, then L and B and finally everyone found themselves in the free play area to train in Taiko! Some practiced on drums, others on cushions, but everyone was determined to repeat the movement before Moko sensei arrived!

When Moko sensei arrived, we were all very excited! We sat in a circle with Marjorie and Liezel while Marjorie read to us the adventures of Dipsy the dinosaur who dreams of becoming a firefighter (Sarah McIntyre's book “Dinosaur Firefighters”), while Brandon and Tamara helped Moko Sensei install all her Taiko in the classroom.

BAM BAM BAM BAM THE SOUND OF THE DRUMS WAS VERY LOUD IN THE BUDS CLASS! We all really enjoyed learning how to do Taiko! Thank you very much Moko-sensei for teaching us Taiko! WE LOVE TAIKO OHANA, WE LOVE MOKO SENSEI!

Once Moko-sensei left the class to teach Taiko to our petals friends, we ate our snack and we did a little sport in the classroom to use up our energy and it was quickly time to eat our lunch!

Thanks for today everyone! Have a good afternoon and see you all tomorrow!

Love,

Buds team
