Pumpkin Seeds

Happy Monday everyone! We had another lovely day at school! We started our morning doing cinnamon painting! Sayaka mixed some powdered cinnamon in glue, and we spread it on the plastic sheet with he leaves on it. Some of our friends really liked the smell of cinnamon and enjoyed the painting activity! When we were done painting, we played with the toy cars and kitchen set. After our play time, we had our snacks then our Show and Tell with C!

C got her Lifebook and began talking about her book. On the first page there was a picture of baby C standing in the snow.

C: This is snow at my Hakuba house. In this picture is my daddy and mommy.

Nimo: What’s daddy and mommy’s name?

C: Uhh Daddy….wait no, S. Mommy is S. This is baby C, I’m eating chichi. Babies drink mommy’s milk.

T: I don’t drink mommy’s milk anymore because I’m not a baby.

S: I’m no baby.

C: This is my brother B and my sister M. This is grandma and grandpa. Oh, look at this picture! C is crying because mama washing me, but it was ouchie.

Nimo: Where is this?

C: That’s Iwatake, it’s next to my Hakuba house.

Nimo: Where is Iwatake? Is it outside of Japan?

C: Yeah, it’s outside of Japan, we take a car and go there.

C: I have two washing machines!

S: I have five.

C: I’m working on my computer here.

G: I know how to use a computer!

E: I can’t use a computer. I think my Mommy and Daddy use the computer.

C: Look at this! I’m covered in snow!

R: That looks fun!

C: M is reading a book for me. That’s B covered in chocolate.

Nimo: C, what is Boston Red Sox?

C: That’s from Korea. I go that one from running class. The end!

Petals: Thank you C!

T: Is it my turn next? After C?

R: I was first, all done!

C: When do we read my book?

Looks like our friends are very excited to share their lifebooks to the class!

We were lucky today because no one else was at the park except Flowers. Flowers played at the green area, and we had the slide area all to ourselves! We had a great time chasing our friends and teachers! When we got back to school, we had a short circle time about seeds. Nimo wrapped the pumpkin seeds in wet paper towels hoping something would happen to them. We opened them up to see what happened. Two of the seeds had something coming out of it.

Nimo: What do you think is happening to the seeds?

C: They are growing geckos.

K: No! Grow spiders!

G: No! Puppies!

R: I think it’s potatoes.

P: Apple Juice, Banana Juice, Orange Juice!

C: It’s coffee.

E: I think it’s a Tulip.

Nimo brought the seeds close so we could get a closer look at the “thing”.

T: This is a wiggly one. It looks like a play dough.

J: *smells the seed* It smells like Jiji.

T: I want to smell too. It smells like C and Daddy.

C: Let me smell. Smells like mama.

Nimo: What do you think is this think coming out?

C: What is happening to it?

T: A crocodile, hippo, snake, and giraffe is coming out.

K: Snake!

L: Fish!

S: Snake.

C: I think it’s a snake too.

R: Snake.

G: It’s a shark!

J: Grandma Shark.

C: I think it’s a bouncy ball. I have one in my bag, I got it from Nishimachi.

We put the seeds back into the bag and hoped it would grow some more!

We played some finger and hang games together then had our lunch!

We had another lovely day! Rest well everyone and we will see you tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
