Petals Show and Tell and Story Time!

Today we had our dear Rafi’s birthday party. We had a short free play before the party. When Rafi’s mom arrived we started our party! Rafi painted his birthday canvas with his mommy, Sofia. We packed away some of our toys because it was celebration time! We helped Rafi to choose his crown and gave him our special birthday card. We sang a song for him and had a great time! Rafi and Sofia were very sweet and prepared a special treat for us! We were so excited about our treat and couldn't wait to open it with mom and dad!

After we had a wonderful time during Rafi’s party, we extended ok free play time.

We did a short workout session doing mountain climbers, star jumps, push ups and sit ups!

It’s circle time!

We all gathered and sat down for circle time. Sayaka started her circle time with this question, “Petals, I have a question for you about the park. Do you want to go to roborobo park or Arisugawa which is a bit far from here.” Sayaka mentioned that we need to walk a lot to go to Arisugawa but it’s a big park so we can have lots of fun there.

C: No, Robot Park!
T: I go to Arisugawa park.
R: I wanna go to robo robo today.
C: I have a question, is there Ginko there?
T: We need to run up the stairs then go down the spinny slide!
R: I been to Arisugawa park before.
We thought that going to Arisugawa sounded very fun! We decided to go to Arisugawa tomorrow. How exciting!

Show and Tell Time! Guess who’s Show and Tell it was today! It was….K! Sayaka said, “Mr. S! Please come and get your life book! “K said, “Oh yeah!”
Then he sat on the special chair for Show and Tell. Sayaka helped him to hold his life book and he started Show and Tell.

K: K… Alphabets *Pointed out his front page.
Sayaka: Who is this baby?
K: Baby K. Taking pool.
K: Oba-chan, grandma. It’s a toy, play. This is K’s car.
Sayaka: Who is this?
K: Daddy
Sayaka: What is daddy’s name.
K: Daddy… Daddy’s wearing glasses.
T: He’s a tennis guy. Tenna.
C: I know his name.
Sayaka: T…T…
Reika: T-san!
Kotaro: T-san small.
Sayaka: Mom? No..no…
K: N.
C: N-san.
K: Ooooo Apple! Cake!
Sayaka: K’s first day at Ohana.
R: It’s Buds Class, Erika, John John, Tamara.
K: I have a question at slide.
C: Nimo? Wait, no not Nimo.
Theo: That’s K with T’s mommy!
Sayaka: Koinobori!
Petals: Tokyo Tower.
R: I go to Tokyo Tower.
Sayaka: You are in the Shinkansen!
K: I have a crab.
M: I have been to that park. It’s where all the houses are.
K: This one is so wiggly. That one is a ball and a balloon. Number Two!
Sayaka: Who was in Buds?
C: Me!
R: Me too!
G: G!
R: I’m here!
T: Me and K!
K: Grandpa. Shark. Look at that. I can eat crab after sleep. Big Hamburger, I eat a hamburger today.
Sayaka: Where is this?
K:!? Shark?! I’m scared of shark.
T: There, Praying Mantis!
K: Watermelon. Playing with watermelon.
Sayaka: Who’s this?
K: Who’s this? Octopus! Crab! Sea Lion.
Sayaka: Where did you go?
K: Baby car, bicycle!
Nimo: What was London like?
K: I had a bicycle.
R: K baby small.
C: How was the London trip.
K: …
Sayaka: Any comment?
K: No.
Sayaka: Sorry C, no comment.
C: Okay!
As Petal Thanked K, he also said, “Thank you!” to us.

Sayaka introduced a new game today, it was called musical chairs. Sayaka made a circle with chairs and explained how to play the game. Nimo helped Sayaka as he played the ukulele. When the music stopped, we tried our best to sit on an empty chair. It was a very fun game with a nice dose of healthy competition! Our friends did a wonderful job showing good sportsmanship!

Just before our lunch time, we had a story time with Sayaka. THE THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF By Paul Galdone. When Sayaka showed us the book, M commented, “We have a book at home for my sister!” The story is a classic story making it a wonderful story to read anytime. After storytime we were hungry just like the three goats so we enjoyed our lunch time.
