Planting the seeds
What beautiful day it was, not too cold and not too hot! The sun was shining brightly and the skies were blue! We knew we were going to have another wonderful day at school! When we entered the classroom we greeted our friends then stopped by the craft table to do some turkey hand printing. We chose which colors we wanted to paint our hands with then stamped the paper! It left a nice hand print and we went to wash our hands. We left the hand print on the rack to dry and we will do the second step to our craft tomorrow! After the painting, we joined our friends in the play area and had a great time playing with the haunted house, foods toys and balls!
After our free play time, we gathered for story time. T brought Sayaka his favorite book, “Alice the Fairy” by David Shannon. It was a fun little book about a little girl trying to be a fairy. Our next story was with Nimo and he read, “I Need A Wee!” by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. It was a book about Alan the Bear that needed to go pee, but he wanted to keep playing. His friends the Giraffe and Robot knew that it’s not a good idea to keep playing and told Alan, “When you got to go, you have to go!”. So, the three ran off to the toilet, but it wasn’t going to be easy. There were so many distractions on the way to the toilet and when they finally got there, there was a huge line. Eventually Alan was able to pee and they continued playing.
Nimo: Do you think it’s a good idea to keep playing when you need pee?
E: Not a good idea.
G: No.
M: You need to go to the toilet!
R: Gotta go pee.
Same for us too, if we feel like we need to go pee, we need to go pee! Just like in the book there might be a line, and if we go to the toilet too late, we won’t be able to hold it in anymore!
After our story time, we headed to step park and had a great time running and sliding with our friends. When we got back to school we had another circle time. We started by practicing some of the songs we plan to sing for our Winter Holiday party. Today we practiced, “Jingle Bells” and “Ohana Song”.
Nimo brought the seeds he wrapped in paper towels so we could check how they were doing. We were surprised to see the “snake” was growing bigger!
S: Oh, snake…
K: Growing.
T: It’s a plant.
J: No, snake! Not moving.
T: Can you open the seed please?
Nimo opened the seed for us and we took a close look at the thing that was growing inside. Nimo taught us that it wasn’t a snake and it was a plant and showed us the roots it was growing.
K: Roots…
We decided to plant some of the seeds in our balcony! We dug a hole in the soil and planted the seeds. Hopefully they will grow bigger!
Nimo: We need to make sure to take care of them.
T: We need to water them!
We each planted one seed then washed our hands for lunch time! Our friends were very hungry today as they ate very well!
Thank you all for another lovely day! Have a great evening and we will see you again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
