Ballet dancing today!
Good morning everyone! Today was a special day because we had our ballet lesson with Maryna! We all got excited to see her again for we have the chance to move our feet and dance to the rhythm. We did our warm-up exercises by started dancing to the tune of “If you’re happy and you know it…” Then, we stretched our arms and legs as much as we could. Maryna was really kind and thought about the movements that we could do and setting up for success as always. We also did some ballet stance such as tanju, plie, pirouette and sautee. It was a bit difficult for us to follow this time but at the end of the session, we felt so proud of ourselves because we had a nice time doing them with our friends.
On our tables, we got the pegs that Chiaki helped us with. We took the small and medium-sized cardboards and found out that we could use these to put the pegs around. It was really a good practice for our fine motor skills development.
The other table was busy with different jigsaw puzzles and we’re able to fix some of pieces accordingly. It was really nice that our friends really worked together to put them together.
The third table was busy with the stacking boxes. We got so excited and put them on top of each other until it became taller and taller. Somehow, we also loved knocking off the boxes and even used our legs to kick the boxes. But...uh-oh...are we supposed to be doing that? Hmm...so, our teachers told us that we needed to be careful and use our hands while playing with blocks. We also need to understand that we have to look after our things properly.
For our circle time, John conducted a fun music class today. Our day just kept on getting better and better. It was really amazing to see how our friends looked very excited. So, we started singing our favorite songs with the piano. When we started singing, “Skidamarink”, we all danced and hugged our friends as much as we could. It was a nice song to express our love and care for our friends and teachers. Then, we got our ribbons and did some action with them as well. We sang “Shake our sillies out” and then integrated some animal actions in the song. We did the bear crawl, swimming like a fish, flying like a bird and jumping like a bunny. It was so much fun because it’s always so much fun dancing with your friends and teachers.
We also loved reading books so John read to us books with titles like “Who sank the boat?” and “A color of his own.” We were all glued to the stories and quite got interested the whole time. Thank you so much Ohana for another beautiful day and for taking us outside again for a walk around the neighborhood.
Lots of love,
