I love trains
Good morning, everyone! Nice weather and Happy Friday! Hope you had an amazing day! Summer school is always fun for us! This week, we explored a variety of vehicles such as a car, firetruck, and airplane. Today, we will have fun with playing trains and train tracks.
Music time:
Music is great and beautiful in our life! We enjoyed singing, dancing, and moving with music every day! This morning, John John played the Ukulele. M and Z were so happy. They sang along with John John. John asked them, “Which song do you want to sing?” Z used her hands to show “round and round” and said, “bus round and round”. When M and Z heard “round”, “up”, “down”, “beep”, “swish”, “open”, they always use their hands and body to show these movements to us. We are so proud of you all!
Fun with blocks and Lego cars:
On our activity tables, we set up blocks and Lego cars. Children enjoyed building blocks very high and then break it. Lynn played at the Lego cars table. She connected all the toy cars and then moved them back and forth on the table. Z was interested in building blocks. She put all square blocks together and made it very high. Annie asked Z, “What are you making?” Z said, “tall”. Annie asked, “tall tower?” Z nodded her head and said. “yeah, tower.” Building blocks is a good way for children to practice their fine motor skills as well as develop their imagination.
Circle time:
During circle time, we talked about the train and our favorite vehicles. We started with “How are you song” and here are the details of our circle time……
Annie: How do you want to travel with me?
M: Taxi
L: Dinosaur
A: Helicopter
Annie: How about you Noah?
L: Bus?
N: Yeah
Annie: Can we ask Zayna, please?
Z: Bicycle
L: How about you John John?
John: I like the airplane because I like the food on the airplane.
Annie: Do you remember who can fly the airplane?
L: Pilot
Annie: How about a police car?
A: Policeman
Annie: Firetruck?
L&A: Firefighter
Annie: Ambulance?
A: Doctor
Annie showed the train and asked, “The airplane can fly in the sky, how about the train? In the water? In the sky?”
L: No! On the ground.
Annie: You’re right, the train can go on the train tracks.
Annie read and shared a book called “I love trains”. After that, we had lots of fun with train trucks. John John put two chairs in the classroom and encouraged them to use train tracks to build a long road. A and L were excited to build train tracks. They used lots of tracks and made it very long. A said to L, “Look, I find a tunnel, we can put here”. L said to A, “Yes, I need more tracks, please. And you can put the bridge here.” L and A were cooperating together, they made a long and amazing road. After they finished, they put trains on it and enjoyed looking at how does train go on the tracks. They did teamwork and had interesting conversations with each other. That how does learning happened while they are playing.
Thank you so much for today, my dear Buds friends! Hope you all have a lovely weekend and looking forward to seeing you all next Monday!
Lots of love,
Buds Class Children
