We made our very own bus!

Mr. Sun is here today!  Early morning, there was a little drizzle outside so we felt that we couldn’t go to the park. But later, the sun was shining so bright and our teachers told us that we could all go for a walk.

After finishing our morning jobs, we went to the carpet and found some animal wooden figurines and some finger puppets. We sat down with Kiki and she started telling us stories about the warrior princess and how she saved the whole world. We were so enthralled by her because she was very animated. She changed her voice from time to time and that added up to its appeal.

On our tables, we had the artwork being donated by one of our parents. We re-painted them and added extra flair to it. We had some colors such as red, yellow, blue and green. We used our paintbrushes and started making dots and various lines all in all. It was a good painting though because the artist used more textures on this art and we just wanted to touch and feel everything. The other table was filled with puzzles. We had the 10-piece jigsaw puzzle and others were matching colors and shapes. It was truly a wonderful experience for all of us again.

We packed our stuff away and had our circle time. First, we sang our morning jobs and called out all our names.  After that, we counted our friends as well and our fingers. Our topic for this week is all about “The Wheels on the bus”. We sang the song again and this time, it was in Norwegian. The lyrics were a bit difficult to read and pronounce but our Henrik gave us a big smile when he heard this song. Here are the lyrics below.

Gjennom hele byen.

Viskerne på bussen sier svisj, svisj, svisj,

Svisj, svisj, svisj - svisj, svisj, svisj,

Viskerne på bussen sier svisj, svisj, svisj,

Gjennom hele byen.

Pengene på bussen sier klirr, klirr, klirr,

Klirr, klirr, klirr - klirr, klirr, klirr,

Pengene på bussen sier klirr, klirr, klirr,

Gjennom hele byen.

Setene på bussen sier knirk, knirk, knirk,

Knirk, knirk, knirk - knirk, knirk, knirk,

Setene på bussen sier knirk, knirk, knirk,

Gjennom hele byen.

After that, we made our own bus. Our teacher talked about what shapes we see from the bus. We told them that there were squares, circles and rectangles. They drew the bus on a white board until we made our own out of food and construction paper. We all had the opportunity to stick the parts of the bus . We sang the song again and this time we passed the bus around. John took all our finger puppets and we picked one to put in our bus. It was very interesting how we were all listening and exploring more of our imagination with our special bus.

We went out for a walk and we  saw lots of cars and trucks passing by. There were no buses but that’s okay. We read the book “More, More, More, said the baby”. We were all once a baby so we can completely relate to it. Thank you so much Ohana and have a great day again!

Lots of love,
