Stop and Go

It’s raining again and we’re really looking forward to go outside but we felt that it’s better for us to stay indoors today. We also heard that in the coming days, it’s going to be the same weather. We are hoping that Mr. Sun will show up pretty soon. Early morning, we have our trains and cars on the carpet area and we were so thrilled to build our own construction and spread the map. We also used the shelves as our routes for our cars to move around the classroom.

On our activity tables, we had two sheets of big construction paper and we scribbled with our markers around and around. Our teachers were also there to help us out until we have made wonderful drawings on them. The art table was very busy too. We had to use the big Lego trains and dipped them on the paint before moving them around the long sheet of white canvas. We did this last week and we were very interested in doing it again for today. We had our special instrument that John brought to school. It’s a ukulele. We thought that it was just a small guitar but we found out that there were only four strings on it. We requested if we could play with them and it’s nice that we are learning more about sharing recently.  So, we all took our turns until everyone got their chance of playing and strumming it. We also took out the big guitar and our teachers had a little jam session with us. We played our favorite songs like, “Twinkle, twinkle little star, The Wheels on the bus, Baa, baa, black sheep” and many more.

Our short circle time was amazing too. First, we sang the number song and it went something like this, “1, 2, 3, 4, 5…jump…6, 7, 8, 9, and 10…jump….” Then, we danced and marched around the classroom when the guitar was playing in the background. We then had our snacks and gradually, we’re starting to learn our special song.  After that, we did another circle time and talked about stop, go slow and go.

Before we started our second circle time, we talked to our special friend. His name is Mr. Peter Rabbit. We stroked his long ears and made him feel very comfortable in our class. We also gave him a big kiss and a hug. It made us very happy as well. Next, our teachers brought some colorful cards like red, green and yellow. Red means stop, yellows means go slow and green means go fast. We pretended that we all have our own cars and we drove them all around the town. We then had our picnic mat and also imagined that we’re on the bus. We went around and made sure that we’re observing the traffic lights really well.

It was a great day again! Thank you so much for the wonderful learning experience. We are hoping to have another great activity for tomorrow.

Lots of love,
