An Angry Pumpkin for Halloween

October 28, 2025

Happy Tuesday! It’s another wonderful day in Flowers Class! As the week rolls on, we’re talking about more emotions.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

M: Do you get angry sometimes?

Most of us said yes. What makes us angry?

S: When I can’t see the video.

J: When it’s raining and don’t go to the park.

K: Too warm, no park.

W: When I don’t go Halloween because I don’t listen.

P: When I go to school.

J: I don’t get angry.

S: When someone punch.

E: When my dog bites.

M: When someone throws my toy.

K: When my dad holds me upside down.

S: When M bites me.

S: I don’t get mad.

How can we calm down after feeling angry?

S: Go to the calm down corner and talk to the teacher.

M: Stomp, push the wall.

J: Squeeze a ball.

R: Go to ofuro.

K: Go to onsen.

Yesterday, we compared the feelings happy and sad to colors. Today we compared angry and calm to music. We listened to a few different kinds of songs, and shared how it made us feel.

Song#1

R: Happy

J: Silly

S: Happy

E: Nothing

Song #2

K: Noisy

S: Funny

Song#3

M: Calm

S: Very calm. This is what they play in shops!

It’s interesting how music can make us feel relaxed or make us want to get up and dance! Music can have a powerful effect on how we feel.

PUMPKIN CARVING

For Halloween, we have a pumpkin in our classroom! We decided to cut a lid in the top to find out what is inside. We guessed what we would find and then reached our hands inside to pull it out!

S: Slimy!

M: It feels yucky!

S: Super yucky!

K: It feels soft.

P: Seeds!

We all wanted to eat the pumpkin and make it into pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie! This kind of pumpkin isn’t the best for eating, so let’s carve a scary face into it!

Halloween is almost here!

Love,

Flowers
