All About Sharks

Happy Wednesday!

MORNING FREE PLAY

Today, on the front table there were ocean coloring pages for us to color. We used color pencils and dot markers to color in our ocean animals. T said he wanted to color the shark while R colored the jellyfish. K didn`t make his jellyfish yet so he worked on ripping up tissue paper and dotting the paper plate to create his beautiful jellyfish.

At the back table we had pink sand. It was a little different than what we see at the beach, but it was so soft. T made a ball with the teacher and kept saying, “More!” K joined in and made some balls too. He said, “Small and big.” While T and K were playing with the sand, R was busy cooking us all some delicious food in our kitchen area.

The morning free play came to a wrap and we all helped the teachers clean up. R and K helped stack the chairs while T used a small broom to sweep up the sand. We all worked together and got the room clean for circle time.

CIRCLE TIME

After we sang our hello song we practiced our jellyfish song and danced like a silly jellyfish together again. This is the song if we want to practice at home too. https://youtu.be/494e4txpwSg?feature=shared

We all got our sillies out and were ready to sit down. K asked for, “Blue,” and R said, “Pink,” and T wanted purple. As we sat down for circle time we noticed our circle was very small today. K counted how many friends are here today. 1,2,3,4,5,6! 6 friends including the teachers were in Buds today.

This week we have been learning about life in the ocean. Monday we learned about jellyfish and Tuesday we learned about different ocean animals and sea shells. Today we dived deeper and learned about…

T: Shark!

We saw that sharks have very sharp teeth. We all took turns showing the teacher our teeth. We were wondering what sharks eat with their sharp teeth. K said, “Trees,” while R thinks they eat bananas. She told us, “Nana.” T stuck his finger in the shark`s mouth. Maybe he thinks sharks like our little fingers. We are not 100% sure what sharks like to eat. Let’s find out tomorrow!

Before snack time we played a little game. The teacher had 2 buckets. We said, “Bye bye,” as the teacher hid the ocean animal in one of the buckets. Then the buckets were moved. Oh no! We were not sure where the animals went. We all had so much fun trying to follow which bucket had the animals. It was a little tricky, but we got the hang of it.

Even with our small class today we had so much fun.

We only have 2 more days to learn all about the ocean. We hope you join us as we continue to explore.

See you tomorrow and have a great day!

Love,
Buds XOXO
