Welcome back to a brand new month of learning! Did anyone go trick-or-treating over the weekend?
Today was a very special day in Buds class! We welcomed a new friend, T! We are so happy to have her with us!
This morning on the front table, S, K, R and T put some gorgeous touches to their friendship quilt! We added colorful bits of paper, buttons and even paint stamped our hands onto our quilt squares! It was very fun to feel the sticky glue and then put our bits of paper and buttons on!
Today we also started building some tissue box holder in the color theme of a fire truck to show our appreciation towards them as they are very important community helpers! K and T glued on red colored papers onto a cardboard that will be molded to the shape of a fire truck! NEENAA! NEENAA!
At the back table, molded cinnamon clay with our hands and fingers to make things from our imagination and to go along with our wooden people that were there. L and S had lots of fun showing K how to roll a flat dough to make a cinnamon roll! Yummy! T came by and giggled at L squishing her roll.
In the free play area, the trains were waiting for us to build them a pathway! K built some bridges and rolled his train along with Y! CHOO! CHOO!
Circle time
After we gathered for circle time, we welcomed our new friend T to the class by saying hello to her and then placing our name cards on the board. Today we reviewed how sharing with our friends is a way we respect and build a stronger relationship towards them! To help us understand how special sharing with others can be, we read the story “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein. The story was about a tree that loved a little boy and gave everything to him to help make him happy.
T: “Ready!”
R: “Tree”
K: “Apple”
Before we knew it, it was time to gobble up our snack and head out to step park! T enjoyed swinging in the swing and lots of us went up and down the slide together! It was very windy!
Thanks for a wonderful Monday!
Love,
Buds
