Running, Postbox and Instruments

We came in the class with the back of the classroom completely empty. There was only a box of fabric on the floor. What can we play with? Well…

Before we left for the park we had a discussion about “slunch”. We were going to have a busy day today so we debated if we wanted to have snack and lunch together or have our snack and then lunch at separate times. We voted and it looks like more people liked to have slunch, but why? We asked two people to tell us why they like slunch and two to tell us why they don’t like it.

Why I like slunch

R: Because I can eat more.

B: After you eat lunch, you can sometimes eat snacks.

Why I don’t like slunch

L: Because I want to eat snack before lunch.

J: Because really I don’t like. Because maybe something is not yummy inside. Because maybe tomatoes is inside and I don’t like tomatoes.

Maybe next time we can debate more about what we want before we take a vote.

On the way to the park we made a stop by the postbox. But, what for you may be asking yourself? We spent a lot of time making different cards. One of the cards we made is called “nengajo”. Nengajo is a Japanese new years tradition to send cards to freinda and family it’s similar to sending Christmas cards. This year is the year of the “inoshishi” (boar) and next year will be the “nezumi” (rat) so our cards are decorated with cute rats and messages. This is why we went to the post, to drop off our cards.

When we got to the park we did some jogging in the green area. When we jog in a group we run behind our friends and keep our hands to ourselves. It’s important we don’t touch our friends when we’re jogging cause they could fall. We started with some stretches then off we went. We followed Kai in formation while he ran around. After about six laps we still wanted to jog three more laps before playing!

Afterwards, it’s always good to stretch your muscles too! R and K lead the cool down stretches for us.

When we got back we had our TOP SECRET practice and followed by Maryna dance class.

We did lots of silly songs and dances.

After dance class we talked about music instruments but we already know what they are. An instrument makes music like a drum. Today, we made our own musical instruments. Kai asked five friends to come sit in front and to make sound, it can be any sound they wanted. W came up and whistled, S inhaled, E said, “la”, K said, “kyu” and Z snapped. When the pointer touched our head we had to make our noise. M was our conductor. We had a beautiful Flowers’ Class instrument. We all had a chance to make sounds or to be a conductor. We all had lots of laughs at the sounds and “playing” our friends.

It was a busy busy day before the last day of Flowers Class this year. We can’t wait to see all of you at our Winter Holiday show tomorrow!

XOXO,
