Learning about Venus!

We continued our planet painting from yesterday and made craters with different materials at our Interest Table. On our activity table, we used our thinking brains to make patterns with the dominos. We played with the food toys until it was time to pack away. We did our rehearsal then sat down for circle time. Today we had Karshima lead our discussion with the help of the other teachers.
T: Good morning!
Karishima: Today is?
A: This one (Wednesday)
Ma: Wednesday!
L: 29!
Y: It’s Thursday, 28.
K: Cloudy today.
L: No, it’s sunny!
T: *Looks outside* Cloudy!

We did a quick review about what we talked about yesterday.
M: Earth!
Karishima: What planet is this?
L: I don’t know.
L: Mercury!
M: Venus!
Karishima: Venus rotates the other way from the planets. What do we call it when planets go around?
M: Orbit!
Karishima: Venus is very very hot.
Lucy: What can you think of that is hot?
L: Onigiri!
L: Sun
E: Ninjin.
L: Microwave.
K: Coffee
A: Mommy has coffee.
K: Daddy too!
Karishima: There are lots of volcanoes on Venus!
T: Blast off!
K: Dinosaurs.

Venus was way too hot for us, so we decided to jump all the way to Neptune where its cold. Our teachers placed mats on the floor and while the music was playing we jump from mat to mat. When the music stopped we had to make sure we were on a black mat! We finished our day reading, “There’s An Alien In My Book” by Tom Fletcher, then went to the park!
Thank you all for today! Our teachers look forward to seeing you for our Parent Teacher Social Night Event tomorrow!

Love,
Petals
