Happy Thursday and welcome back everyone!
We hope all of our Buds families had a wonderful golden week and enjoyed a fun holiday together!
Today on the front table, a few of our friends finished working on their Koi No Bori. We also started a repurposing art craft today by stamping red, blue, orange and yellow paint onto a canvas bag! We used some wooden spools as stampers and let our imaginations be our guide. We saw there was a heart shape on the bag first so we stamped all around it to make something we call a relief picture. We learned that that is when we work on top of or around an image to later reveal its shape. These repurposed bags will be a special gift for our Buds friends’ end of the year surprise!
On the back table, we sculpted and molded clay. We love the sticky clay and how it feels in our fingers and hands. Some of us rolled some long snake shapes, while others squashed pancakes and rolled tiny balls. We love sculpting with clay!
In the free play area, there were lots of pretend food items for us to prepare a wonderful set of snacks and meals for our friends and teachers. We discovered candied apples, donuts and a salad mix with surprises inside like fish, beef and others! We love to pretend that we are mommy and daddy by acting out the way to prepare food the same way at home! We also really love sharing our creations with our friends and teachers too!
After we cleaned up and gathered for circle time, Brandon reminded us that mother’s day will be this coming sunday, so we sang a happy mother’s day song “if you love your mommy clap your hands”. We read a story called “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. IT was about how our mommies love us so much and that they actually do lots of things for us in our daily lives. This is what makes our moms super heroes! We love you mom!
Soon after, we got ready to leave for… the Hungarian Culture Institute! We have continuously explored our community and today we visited our friends at the Hungarian Culture Institute, where there were many wonderful artworks on display! We were amazed by all the colors, shapes and characters! We saw some rainbow baboons, puppies made of popcorn and even SantaSan’s house! Wow! Do you know any special artworks? Share with us!
Thank you so much, everyone!
Love,
Buds
