Circle Around The Block

February 16, 2026

Welcome back everyone!

The teachers were all very surprised today as they all received some very special and tasty treats! The little Buds brought yummy snacks and delightful sweets for their teachers. Thank you so much! The teachers all appreciated their treats and gave out big hugs in return! Thank you Buds!

On the front table today, H, R and S wrapped up finishing their circle sculptures. H was hesitant to touch the sticky glue before adding his circles but he was happy to use a paintbrush to apply his glue. Sometimes we don’t like sticky fingers but Buds are very practical when flexing their creativity! We reviewed circle shapes today and are excited for the next shape, what could it be!?

On the back table, our BUDdies teamed up for some shape puzzle fun! There were large wooden shape parts out and we were all invited to sort them into the correctly fitting slots. It required us to use our fine motor muscles to fit the pieces just right! We love puzzles! Do you enjoy simple puzzles at home?

In the free play area, the train set was out, waiting for us to create a world of hills and dips around the free play area! R was so focused when he teamed up with Y to make a very long track that stretched all the way from the pretend play wardrobe to the white board! Some of us noticed that the trains can snap or push themselves away from each other, depending on their position. How cool!

Soon after we cleaned up and ate our snacks, Shoma Sensei arrived!

We all said hello to Shoma Sensei and he invited us to move our bodies like animals! First we moved like a bear by doing a bear walk and then turned around to transform into a frog! After we hopped back and forth, we gathered to be invited for a walk by holding Shoma’s hand but with the challenge of moving backwards and strafe walking! It was a totally new way to move! Thanks Shoma Sensei! After we all had a turn, it was time for us to head out for a stroll around the neighborhood! We love sightseeing in our very own neighborhood!

Thank you for a great Monday!

Love,

Buds
