Is this a circle?

February 6, 2026

Happy Friday!

What an amazing week we had in Buds. This week we had K’s daddy and R’s mommy come to share about Setsubun. Thank you again for coming to our class and teaching us.

MORNING ACTIVITIES

We were all done and caught up on our art activities, so we took a short break from the front table today. That did not mean we were not busy. At the back table we found pink playdough with rolling pins, circle stencils and cutters. L took her roller and rolled out her playdough then stamped her stencil and made flowers. K and R joined L at the playdough table. They enjoyed using their tiny hands to roll the playdough to make a ball.

In the back room we had Duplo blocks. Y took two cars and connected them together to make a train. M said, “Wee ooo,” as she pushed the police car around. T also enjoyed the duplo blocks and pushed vehicles all around our room.

We had a great morning playing with our friends, but it was a busy day so we cleaned up and got ready for circle time.

CIRCLE TIME

Today we started circle time with our attendance song. “Who has come to school today….” We all took turns waiting for our name and placed it under school. Our friend Henry helped us count how many friends there are at school today. We had 9 friends! K said, “Yay!”

N showed us a shape with her hands. R said, “Circle!” It was a circle! This week we learned about the shape circle. Today, N showed us different photos and we looked very carefully to see if they have sharp corners. But first we drew 2 circles on the wall. One was a red circle and Taiga told us that the second circle was green. First was a…

R: Pizza

M: Yum yum!

We put pizza in the green circle. It was a circle shape! Next was…

R: Cheese

T: Cracker

Is the cracker a circle?

R: No!

Yes, it is not a circle. We put it in the red circle.

Next, we had a tire.

M: Beep beep

What else can we see?

R: Window

Is a window a circle?

T: No!

Lastly, we looked at a…

R: Ball

T: Basketball

In the end we had 3 objects in the green circle and 2 objects in the red circle.

DANCE TIME

Today, we had spin and shine with M. We worked on dancing like a banana, shaking eggs, shaking scarfs and so much more. We had so much fun getting our wiggles out.

After we danced, we changed our diapers, changed our shoes, put on our jackets and went for a walk. Today we took a different route and walked towards Roppongi. H and R were great helpers and said, “Stop please!” when they saw a vehicle heading towards us. Thank you for being our eyes on the street.

Have a great weekend!

Love,
Buds
