Today we continued learning about the five important things we need to remember during circle time. When our teacher says, “Gimme 5” we must do five things. Each day we learn one of the five things. This morning, we focused on keeping our lips closed. To practice, we challenged ourselves by pretending to have bubbles in our mouths and tried our best to keep it from popping. It’s a good way for us to keep our lips zip. Then we tried answering questions using our hands. We used thumbs-up gesture if our answer is “yes” and thumbs-down if it’s a “no”. We found out we can still share our ideas without making a sound!

K: No, because it’s not easy to do. Can I change my mind? It is easy to do
M: Yes, if we close our lips, we can hear better.
E: No, we can’t answer teacher’s question.
P: I changed my mind. Lips help us speak.
J: When we zip(lips) for long time we will turn to stone.
To end our day, we went up and down the stairs while keeping our lips zipped. We discovered that we could hear our teachers more if we kept our lips closed.
