What Shapes Can You See In a Horse?

Our Wednesday morning started with us coloring the background for our Blue Horse artwork. We played with the duplo blocks, kitchen toys, and our Fukuwarai puzzles!

We sang some songs together then H updated our classroom calendar.

Nimo: Today’s Calendar Helper’s name starts with the letter “H”…

M: H?

H: H for H! Me!

Nimo: Today is?

L: Wednesday!

H: Fourteen.

L: January.

We reviewed numbers from one to ten. Our teachers called us one at a time to find a magnet number and put them in order.

Nimo: The first number is?

E: One!

H: I find one!

L: This is number 1. I see so many 1!

Nimo: Next number is?

T: Two!

Nimo: Then?

A: Three!

E: Four.

Y: Five!

K: Six

S: Seven!

L: Eight!

M: Nine.

L: 10!

For the next part of our circle time, we sang “Dem Bones” as we looked at a model of a skeleton to review the parts of our body. Then we looked at the body of a horse and talked about it’s body parts. We tried looking for shapes in the horse’s body to make it easier for us to paint it tomorrow.

L: A horse!

Nimo: We are going to paint…

L: Blue Horse!

Nimo: What shapes do the hooves look like?

E: A heart

M: Circle, oval.

Nimo: What about the legs?

E: It’s like a line.

Y: Triangle here (knees).

Nimo: Eyes?

A: Oval.

K: Black!

Nimo: Nose?

L: Circle!

Nimo: What about the tail?

E: It’s like a rainbow shape!

We read, “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly” illustrated by Pam Adams. After our storytime we went to Step Park and had a great time playing with our friends!

Thank you for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and see you again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
