Making our dance for the Winter Party!

We began our day with a snowflake craft. We cut out pieces of a white folded paper and glued it to our winter mitten. We also worked on weaving our winter gift! After finishing those two, we played with blocks or with the Ball Run activity. Once we finished packing away, we got ready for our morning circle time. Today circle time was split into two. Our first circle time was about feelings and motion.

Esmi : When we are happy, what face do we make? How does our body move?
L : *smiles*

M : Happy! *smiles*

H : *smiles*

S : *smiles*

E : You dance! Like this *dances with arms moving up and down*

M : Happy like this! *runs*

Esmi : When we are angry, what face do we make? How does our body move?

N : Angry face! *frowns*

M : Stomp!

I : Like this *stomps*

Esmi : And surprised? Do we jump?

M : Yeah!

Esmi : What do we do when we are scared?
M : Run!

Esmi : What do we do when we are sad?

I : Cry!

M : Like babies!

N : Babies poop!

For storytime, we read “Franklin Fibs” by Paulette Bourgeois and Brenda Clark. It is a story about a turtle named Franklin who tells his friends a little lie.

I : Turtles! Butterflies! So many butterflies!

N : Turtle!

H : Fireflies!

E : Fish!

L : Fish…

S : No this!
I : He ate the whole pie!
Laura : How many letters in Franklin’s name?

Petals : 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…! Eight letters!

M : F! (first letter of his name?)
E : (Franklin is) sad!

For our second circle time, after gym class, we talked about our names and the meanings of our names and the number of letters in our name. Our friends are trying their best to remember the number of letters and everyday we get better at counting the letters in our name.

M : Hundreds and flowers and blooming!

E : Light! (I feel) happy!

L : 4 letters.

L: 4!!

Stephen : Stephen!
M : 6!

E : 4!

A : 1!

S : Me 5!

We had lunch after circle time and nap time. Thank you all for today, see you all tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
