Colors and Friendship

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Spending time with our friends and teachers just gets more exciting and interesting each day. Today, we had a wonderful time exploring colors. Colors are everywhere and all around us. It is on our clothes, our things, our toys and of course in the artwork that we do. Please read on to hear the many fun things we had today.

MORNING ACTIVITIES

It was great to see different colors of paint to choose from to paint our cardboard houses. Some of our friends used roller brushes, while others used paintbrushes. Then those who painted yesterday enjoyed decorating their houses with green and blue pieces of paper. We brushed the paper with starch glue and then liked putting the colored papers as if they were sprinkles😊

On another table, we enjoyed playing with shape and lock puzzles. When we found something was a bit challenging, we asked our friends to help us. Working together does make things easier! For the floor activity, we had lots of fun building railroad tracks and having the trains move on them.

CIRCLE TIME

Colors make us happy😊 You could just imagine how happy we were to listen to a flannel story entitled The Magical Rainbow Stew. We got excited as each fruit transformed into a colorful ark until they became a rainbow. As Vieda put each fruit on the flannel, our friends mentioned what fruits they were and their colors, too!

               Ri: Apple

               Ty: Banna! Pear! Grape! Rainbow!

               Ka: Orange!
               No: Orange! Purple

Ta: Green!

Then, as we worked on naming each color, we looked at our clothes and shared what color we thought we were wearing. Guess what? Our wall had a color chart with different colors on it, and space where we could put our photo on.

We talked about how things become more fun and enjoyable when shared with friends. Just like today’s special activity with the parachute. Parachute activities help us work with our friends, use our listening ears to know what movement we are supposed to be doing, and most especially, to enjoy it with our friends. We played the song Shake! Shake! Shake! during our parachute activity and had so much fun seeing the parachute moved like waves!

We can’t wait to learn more about colors and friendship!

Love,
