MORNING ACTIVITIES
On top of the front table today, we finished painting the autumn art collaboration! We will still continue to add more elements to it to make it even more amazing! Today, E, L and T helped paint in yellow, orange and green. L giggled at how the paint felt on her hands. E was very focused and used different instruments to apply her color.
Nearby, K helped in pasting on black scraps of paper to another cardboard cover which will be made into a tissue box cover, decorated as a patrol car for our local police department! Wow! We love our community.
On the back table there was a color bear sorting activity. L was interested in collecting the blue and yellow bears. Y also joined the fun and handed L a small tray to hold them. Thank you!
In the free play area, there were doughnuts and apples out to gather and eat! Yum! Nearby, there were many pinch clips and popsicle sticks that could be clipped and connected l what a great exercise for our fingers! We love growing our fine motor strength!
CIRCLE TIME
When we went over the classroom rules, Brandon held up a picture of feet that were moving and asked “what does this mean?” Taiga said “walking!”. Then he held a picture of an ear with a hand near it and asked again, “what does this mean?” and Lily replied “listening”.
After we finished, Brandon pointed toward a picture of a building and asked “where is this place?”. T replied “home!”. Then Brandon pointed to another building, asking what it was. L replied, “school” and T answered “Ohana”.
We counted our friends’ names and everyone was excited to say the numbers they recognize.
K: “one, three”
K: “one, two, nine”
L: “four, five, six”
E: “seven, eight”
We read the story “I’ll Wait, Mr. Panda” by Steve Anthony. The story was about being patient, even though it’s sometimes very very hard to do. Mr. Panda had a big surprise at the end of the story and K told us that one of the characters was a “penguin” and that there were also “doughnuts”.
T let us know that in one picture, Mr. Panda was holding a “spoon” and a “bowl”. T also recognized and told us he saw a “bunny” and that Mr. Panda’s surprise was a“BIG” doughnut. L said “taberu”(eat).
Today was a little bit warmer but the ground was still wet from the sudden but heavy rain we had last night. We took the opportunity to explore the neighborhood today! We saw fire trucks, dogs and more on our big walk! We all walked a long way today so our feet were tired and our tummies were HUNGRY by the time we returned.
Thank you all so much and have an amazing evening!
Love,
Buds
