Happy Wednesday!
When we arrived at school, we saw many friends wearing their Ohana shirts. We were matching! I love matching with my friends.
This morning K, L, L and R were busy at the art table. They were gluing buttons and scraps of paper on their handprint paper. It looked very beautiful.
K and L were busy cooking delicious food in our kitchen. The teachers were very full. S and E were smiling and enjoying our kinetic stand table. We were all busy bees this morning. Now it was time to clean up and get ready for circle time.
CIRCLE TIME
Yesterday we were introduced to a new line of inquiry which is about building relationships. One kind of relationship is called friendship. The book of the day was, “I Can Share,” by Karen Katz.
N: Who knows how to share?
L: Me
K: K too
After we finished our book more friends in Bud’s class said “Yes!” We know how to share. That made the teachers smile.
Yesterday we chose a name for our pumpkin.
N: What is their name?
K: Halloween!
Yes, that is their name. We drew on Halloween yesterday. L said “Eyes!” Yes, we drew eyes and what else? E said, “Nose!” Yes, we also drew a nose. We realized we forgot its mouth. Maybe we can draw a mouth tomorrow.
We thought we were going to carve our friendly pumpkin today, but we were only able to grab 2 seeds from the pumpkin yesterday. We had to finish step 1, before we get to step 2. Today we used a spoon to help scoop more seeds from the pumpkin. We all took turns and shared the one spoon we had. First L had the spoon then she shared with L then L shared with K. We were all sharing so everyone had a turn.
The pumpkin was all clean in no time. Now the pumpkin is ready to be carved. We are excited to carve our pumpkin, Halloween, tomorrow.
Today we had 11 Buds’ friends in class. Yesterday, L and T shared who their friends were in Bud’s class. When the teacher asked who would like to share who their friends are in Bud’s class, K raised his hand. K went to the board and found his picture. He then chose his friend’s flower photo and put it next to his. Next, E raised her hand and wanted to share who her friends are in Buds’ class. We love to see so many friendships in Buds’ class. Let’s continue to share as we continue to explore.
Have a lovely evening!
Lots of love,
Buds XOXO
