We started our new week busy with crafting, drawing and playing with play dough. Some friends started their Picasso inspired face portrait and others drew their friends faces on the acrylic tablet.
After morning free play, we had story time. We read, “One Red Dot” by David A. Carter. We had fun looking for the red dot in the silly and interesting 3D shapes!
Esmi : What color is this?
Petals : Blue!
Esmi : Who is wearing blue?
E : I am wearing yellow!
M : I am wearing blue! I am wearing purple!
Esmi : Where is the red dot?
I : Ah, it’s here! *points at the dot*
Petals : Yellow!
I : We go the other way! (direction of the book)
Esmi : What color is the circle?
M : White! Yellow!
A : Yellow!
M : Yes!
I : This is nice! (page)
After storytime, we got ready for Young Athletes. We enjoyed the class with our new teacher Shoma. We learned how to do push ups, squats and even burpees! After our class we had circle time. Today we talked about our names and colors. We thought about which color we think our name feels like.
H : Monday !
A : Sunny!
H : 10 friends!
Esmi : What’s my name?
Petals : Esmi!
Esmi : Esmeralda! Esmi for short. What color do you think Esmeralda feels like?
I : Orange!
S : Yellow!
A : Green !
Petals : Brown!
M : Purple!
H : Aka(red)
Esmi : Thank you everyone for choosing wonderful colors. I feel like my name is green. What about your name M?
M : Purple!
St : Brown!
L : Green!
S : Black.
H : Yellow.
L : Purple!
H : Red.
I : Blue!
E : Orange!
A : Yellow!
Esmi : Why do you feel like your name matches the color you chose?
M : Because I like purple!
S : Da!
L : I like green!
S : I like black!
L : I don’t know…
H : I like red.
I : I like blue!
E : I love orange color!
After circle time we got ready for lunch time and nap time. Thank you all for another wonderful start to our week, see you tomorrow!
