Friday, 6th June: Happy Birthday
Today was a very colorful day! The sun was out and in the classroom we were experiencing a lot of color too! On the balcony we had the sensory table with so many colorful pom poms and tweezers where we were picking up the pom poms and R loved collecting pom poms and feeling the soft texture. S was exploring how to use the tweezers with K.
On the font table was the light table with lots of leaves and windows. N was looking through the green window and smiling. H was lining up the windows to make a “gadangadan” a train! R was looking at how the leaves change color when you add a window, he was very impressed.
On the coloring table we were creating a bed. A predrawn pillow and blanket was there and we were making it as colorful as we could whilst practising our finger pincer skills. H was coloring greens and beiges with his friend L who was requesting tamara draw him Anpanman which she obliged. K was grinning, proud of himself that he drew a circle! H had a try at holding the pencil and was very good at coloring!
At the back of the room we were exercising our imaginative play skills. There was a blanket with pillows and lots of stuffed animals. S was enjoying the shark whilst I got inside the blanket and pretended to nap. L was holding two babies in her hand! L was helping the Moana doll get dressed.
S and A sat at the small table decorating their birthday canvas. Its so fun to commemorate our special days by creating something. Anna loved the purple paint whereas Seiji chose pink and green!
We made a circle and read “Spots birthday party” , a favorite book amongst the Buds’ friends. We then heard that we had lots of special guests today. It was time to celebrate four of our Bud’s friends’ birthdays. L is turning two years old in June and In July A, Si and H will turn three years old. It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate with our loved ones. S’s mom read us a story. We read “The Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle which everyone loves!
Thank you to our wonderful parents of the birthday celebrants, it was a great party. We have sent home a goodie bag in everyone’s pouches.
Today we did our monthly earthquake drill where we reviewed the importance of wearing safety helmets to protect our heads. It’s in our monthly drills where we can see the progression of our Buds friends. We all were able to keep our protective headwear on and line up nicely and some of our friends could say “here!” when it was time to check the register. Wow!
At the park today we were dancing in the sun to Baby Shark. We had colorful balls practising throwing and catching. L was running with a green ball laughing victoriously. K ran after her in the chase for the special green ball. “K come on!” said L.
We hope you have a great weekend. Next week is the last week of the 2024 school year! Please don’t forget the END OF YEAR PARTY on WEDNESDAY. Please also don’t forget the ECO BAG to put all your child’s things in to take home.
Love,
Buds
