Welcome to another week here in Petals! When we entered our classroom we couldn’t wait to say hello to our friends and teachers. Some friends were so excited that they took time chatting while the others finished their morning jobs right away. Then we continued working on our year-end gifts and started painting our canvas for Ohana’s Auction.

W: Evita, this. (*points at the paint and canvass on the table). I like pink
R: I like green
While we were waiting for Maryna, we quickly practiced our Name and Family Song. When she finally arrived, we hugged her and said hello. We were all excited to see her! We danced along to the steps that she taught us and had fun with the songs she prepared for us. Thank you, Maryna, for taking the time to teach us. We can’t wait for mom and dad to see it!
R: (Tummy) facing mommy and daddy

M: I can do it (when asked if she needed help in singing her part in the song)
W: (Where’s) Maryna?
R/ E: Where is Maryna?
M: I like Maryna

Petals: Thank you, Maryna!
Later, we gathered in the library, where Evita read the book Juwon brought for world book day, “Peppa and the Flying Vet”. This story was about Peppa and the flying vet named, Doctor Hamster. Doctor Hamster flew all over town to help animals with their emergencies. We loved this story and we all tried to predict what would happen next.
Evita: Peppa and the Flying Vet. What is a vet?

M: Because he is not eating food

P: Bunny

For the final activity of the day, Evita asked us to sit on the table as she revisited our past lesson on using shapes to draw faces. Then we discussed what shapes we can use to draw our arms, legs, neck and body. Our stick puppets are starting to look like us.
