This morning we helped our teachers make a new batch of play dough! We helped them measure and pour the ingredients and mix them all together. By the end of our free play time, our new play dough was finished and we got a chance to play with it before we packed away for circle time.
K, M, and Y helped update our calendar!
A: (Today is?) Tuesday?!
M: It’s Thursday.
K: 9!
Y: It’s sunny!
We started our circle time with a book, “The Tiny Seed” by Eric Carle. We followed the journey of a tiny seed and watched it grow into a giant flower!
K: Flower!
L: Bee (likes flowers)
A: Bee fly!
Nimo: Where do flowers come from?
M: Seeds and water and grow!
K: Water grow and grow!
L: *Points at the sun* Hot!
K: Look, fish in the water.
M: It’s the sea.
Nimo: What season snows?
T: Winter!
E: So much snow!
K: Oh! A hungry mouse!
M: (What season is it?) Spring! The seeds grow!
T: It’s raining.
K: Oh no!
M: The flower got stepped on…
K: It’s not kind.
A: (Season after summer?) Fall!
Nimo: What are these floating in the wind?
A: Seeds!
After our story time, we planted some seeds in a clear bag hoping we could see how a seed grows! Before we did a fun activity we talked about a Botanist and how they study plants and sometimes how they help the animals. We looked at pictures of a beetle, a rabbit, a bee, a bird, and a monkey. Our teachers set up a maze with ropes then put the pictures of animals on one side and pictures of food on the other side. Our job was to follow the rope from one end to the other to see what the animals like to eat!
We finished up our day playing at Step Park! Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a wonderful evening and see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
