We started our morning finishing up everything we need for our special Mom’s Day Celebration tomorrow! We worked together to make a tall tower with the giant lego blocks or made small houses with the magnet shapes. After our free play time, we did our usual circle time things like updating our calendar and singing our good morning song. We started by practicing our little mom’s day song then played another game of charades because we will be playing it with our moms tomorrow!
For our activity today, we did a fun little activity about teamwork! We quickly reviewed the colors.
L: Purple! Lily like purple!
M: I like red.
L: I like purple.
L: I like pink.
A: Me too!
E: That’s yellow!
L: K likes blue!
K: Ya!
Then, our teachers got the large lego blocks and put them on the ground. We were grouped in small teams of three and our teachers told us a color and our job was to only get the blocks of the color our teachers said and try and make the tower as tall as possible. We did a great job communicating with our teammates and working together!
L: At home I have 2 legos!
M: Team!
T: (Saying) Mine, mine, mine! No!
K: Work together, sharing! Take it and give it back.
E: No taking.
A: So many lego!
After we each had a turn, we were split up into two groups and we tried to build our tower faster than the other team. It was a very fun game!
We finished up our day quickly reviewing our plan for tomorrow then read the story, “Are You My Mother” by P.D. Eastman.
N: Cat!
L: Not mommy!
A: (It’s a) Bird!
M: Chicken.
T: A cow! Moo!
Thank you all for another fabulous day! We look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow for our special Mom’s Day Celebration!
Love,
Petals
