Pretend Auction

A fantastic Monday to everyone!

We started our morning learning about numbers. Our teachers called out numbers and we took turns looking for them. Bigger numbers are a little hard so our teachers gave us some hints.

R: 23. This is where grandpa lives.

J: Look Evita, it’s 11

D: 30!

E: Here! (hands number 65 to his teacher)

M: 2!

D: I got 13, correct answer! 14! 15! 16! 17!

After cleaning, we sat down in a circle where we discussed the auction that we are going to do tomorrow. Evita revisited what we did with Flowers Class last Thursday and we understood that in an auction, we need to say the biggest number to win the auction. We then were surprised to hear that we are doing a practice auction. We all got to bid on decorations that we made around the classroom. There were so many options to choose from and we had fun pretending to bid!

Before ending our circle time, we were reminded who will be the beneficiary of this charity auction; the Noto region.  We learned how fortunate we all are that we still have a roof over our heads.

R: Who is Noto? Jishin!

J: Why (did their) house break?

E: How about the people? My house is very tall

M: My house is like this (makes a wide gesture with her hands).

J: My house is not broken

R: They need to fix it.

Evita: How will they fix their houses?

R: With money. They need to buy something with money

Evita: What will they do if they don’t have enough money?

R: Ask for money from mommy

Petals: Yes! *agrees that we are very lucky our house isn’t broken*

Tomorrow is a special day for Petals and we are excited for all of you to see what we had prepared. We are ready to welcome you at 9:20 am. Please remember to bring your eco bags!

Love,

Petals
